Please recommend an online miniatures store

I shop miniature-giant. Their prices are ~25% off and I found at least 2 different beholders in stock. I did a search for "eye" and sifted through the 4 pages of results.

    Numenera Cypher Question

Thanks for the clarification. I'm not sure if its me or Monte but I can read his paragraphs a half a dozen times and I still can't pull apart the mechanics. :erm:

    Numenera Cypher Question

What are Cypher levels and how would they effect game play? My thoughts are Cypher levels is that it is the activation difficulty That would mean most of these cyphers can be nearly impossible to activate as low tier character, and at the very least unreliable to activate. Example Cypher...

D&D 5E Wandering Monsters 1/15/14: Reinventing the Great Wheel

I agree with the numbers. Right now I'm GM'ing a Birthright game. I could careless about the great wheel since my players will never leave their home plane. If I want to run a game in Hell or the Abyss, I'll snag my Baator or Abyss books from Planescape, but again the great wheel design...

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Wulfgar I was trying to make a joke! :) I remember the transition to 2nd to 3rd, My gaming group shot some arrows at at a lurker and someone made the mistake of asking the GM if any of their arrows are still intact. A 1/2 hour later we found the rule, we then proceeded to argue why did the...

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Really? I got to say D&D 3.0 was a hard pill to swallow. On one hand you had much more flexibility in character creation, on the other the game felt like a video game and less like... Well less like D&D.

D&D 5E Wandering Monsters 1/15/14: Reinventing the Great Wheel

In most games I play, we never leave our home plane; angels from heaven, demons/devils from hell (we keep it simple). With that said I've Dm'ed 2; 2+ year planescape games, and have played in 3; 2+ year games as well. 10 years of planescape and I'm no where near close to running out of...

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Agreed, I've read many of these claims on this form, but I haven't seen any examples. (I didn't play the playtest, I'm actually intrigued to find out).

A hard decision at the game table

Since she is having so much trouble driving and moving around maybe she can play remotely. Hook up a webcam and play.

PDFs vs. Books - What's your preference?

I don't like PDF's. I'll download a PDF to review a potential RPG, or if an out of print RPG is unattainable (in which case I'll probably print it). Otherwise I exclusively use printed material. Much of it has to do with value. A book is physical object with weight, crafted and bound...

Planescape Do You Care About Planescape Lore?

I only used about 1/2 of those rules, but honestly in 2nd edition it was a lot easier to adopt them. AD&D had far fewer modifiers than what D&D has now. Adjusting your swords hit and damage was pretty easy and didn't require a complex mathematical formula to figure out.

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Monte's Numenera is a conflict of interest with D&D? Really?! *Laugh *Cough *Laugh If your a Walmart employee and your running your son's lemonade stand would they also see it as a conflict of interest?! I understand the point of these conflict of interest contracts, but there is nothing...

Planescape Do You Care About Planescape Lore?

The +1 to this, and -1 to that given a planes alignment compared to yours plus any odd weather patterns that maybe happening. or +1 to -6 levels of divine magic a cleric fluctuates dependent on how far they might be from their deity? or -1 to -4 bonuses weapons and armor experience when you...

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Lego's... wow... Maybe this why they killed off the D&D miniature lines... Now each game we will literally have to "Build the encounters" lol Yep the brand is still strong, and D&D next will sell very well this summer.

    D&D 5E Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Unless your a gamer most people have never heard of Pathfinder (PF), 13th age, Gurps, WOD, AEG- games, etc... but ask anyone alive during the 80's, and they've heard of D&D. Gamers who want to get back into the genre, or who are new to RPG's will probobly gravitate to the newest edition of...

    will 4.0 succeed?

4th edition was a success and it was a terrible game! There is no doubt that D&D next will do well; hell I bet they could release it as a popup book and it would probably still sell.
