Your Best and Worst Sci-Fi TV Shows!

Wow. Am I the only one here who likes Roswell? Some shows I especially like include Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, The 4400, Firefly, John Doe, Farscape, and Sliders. I've never really gotten into Star Trek in any of its incarnations. I saw some of the movies and scattered episodes of...

Most Misused Word in Science Fiction

I think the word that deserves this dubious honor is "intergalactic." Anything that doesn't involve more than one galaxy is NOT intergalactic. Another contender is "dimension," which just refers to a pair of opposite strait-line directions, and not another universe that can be reached by...

    Urban Arcana TV series?

I think most of those shows look good. I'm a big fan of Home Movies, so I'm sure I'll like this other Small show. I've never played D20 Modern, but Urban Arcana looks like a show I'd watch.

    Shemeska's Planescape Storyhour (Updated 29 Jan 2014)

Regarding Allanon's reworked passage: Brain hurts. It's a little like this. This is a great story.

    World/Campaign Setting Themes/Flavours

I selected both "high fantasy" and "futuristic/sci-fi" as the setting I'm putting together focuses on an interstellar nation with lots of magic, and I mine content from any source I can find. Ideally, I'd like to use material from Dungeons & Dragons, StarGate, Magic: the Gathering, Marvel...

    Stargate SG-1 {Spoiler Talk} 18.03.05

Actually, it's only two parts. It's the corresponding Atlantis episode "The Siege" that's three parts.

War of the Worlds second teaser

That ending is given a little something extra by the way it's presented in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 2.

As shown in the episode Sanctuary, some Ancients in Pegasus ascended.

    Gandalf the Who?

There's also the fact that there were only ever five wizards in the whole world. It isn't all that hard to be the best in such a small field.

    Looking for something to read

A series that I like which mixes fantasy, science fiction, and alternate history is Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books: The Eyre Affair, Lost in a Good Book, The Well of Lost Plots, and Something Rotten. http://www.thursdaynext.com has much information on the subject.

Venture Brothers..Like it or not and why?

I think it's encouraging that Publick referred to the "season one DVDs," which suggests that there just might be a season two.

    Stargate SG-1 {Spoiler Talk} 3/11/05

That makes two actors from "Jesse" on one episode.

Coolest, most vile, and stupidest villians of all time.

I briefly had a similar problem until I saw the source. I rather liked that show. I thought of some good candidates for these positions. A cool villain is Harrison from Orson Scott Card's Tales of Alvin Maker series. This guy gets a curse requiring him to tell a new person every day about...

    Stargate SG-1 {Spoiler Talk} 2.18.05

As soon as Joe mentioned Jack's bad ping pong skills, I just knew that would get Jack's first response. I also liked that "snake-people" bit.

    Your Favorite Fake Sci-Fi Profanity

Another one is "Lucy" from the novelizaton of Douglas Adams's Starship Titanic by Terry Jones. I'm not familiar with the game, so I don't know if it's there too. I tend to think that the idea of a bad word is quite foolish. If a word's so bad don't put it in the language to begin with.

Describe your homebrew in one sentence.

I have a setting concept I intend to run once I get all the details put together and find a group. The setting is dominated by a star-spanning nation called the Republic of Geltrab where all of the material I can mine from any source I find is jumbled together (viable character example: a...

    New Season of Justice League

Another actor I recognized in that episode is Nestor Carbonell (Batmanuel on The Tick) as El Diablo.

Venture Brothers..Like it or not and why?

That was Hank, on the subject of the Guild of Calamitous Intent, saying, "They kill clean, don't let dames get in the way." It's like he channels crazy dead people, as Brock remarked. No, I don't think I watch this show too much. Why do you ask? :D
