    Using Dwarven Forge dungeons

Like others have said, it works best if you can set it up ahead of time. I generally lay out the pieces and cover different areas with pieces of cardboard, pulling them off as they enter a new area. Often, I'll throw some pieces I'm not using into "in-between" areas and cover those areas up as...

    Fantasy themed tables?

A few that come to mind: TableSmith tables: There are a ton of free tables on the TableSmith Yahoo list that contain various lists of fantasy-related stuff. The table files are plain text so they can be used just for inspiration if you don't need/want to run them in the program. link CDD#4: I...

Tell me about your D&D group

About two years for our current group (our previous group had been about nine years until WoW pulled half of them out). Four male, one female. Everyone's in their mid-30's. Professions include electrical engineer, software developer, project manager, bus garage manager, and tire salesman. We...

Removing permanent marker from a battlemap

I was able to use "Goof-Off" (http://www.valsparglobal.com/val/resident/goof-off.jsp) to get dry erase marker off my Chessex battlemat, though you have to be careful not to use too much or scrub too hard as it takes off the finish of the mat (sort of a parchment-y texture). It did leave the...

    Serpent Men Minis?

Reaper has some nice snakemen, though their physiology isn't exactly what you described: http://reapermini.com/Miniatures/02498/latest/02498_G http://reapermini.com/Miniatures/06177/latest/06177_G http://reapermini.com/Miniatures/14187/latest/14187_SnakeChampion...

    Any good email software

Another recommendation for Thunderbird. I don't use it anymore since I just use GMail, but I used Thunderbird for quite some time. (I've never been a fan of web-based email either but GMail won me over).

Player Sign Up Thread - Chicago Gameday North - April 26th - Antioch, IL - 4E Demo!

My wife and I were only there for the afternoon session, but things seem to go fine are far as we could tell (granted, it was the first Games Day we attended at either Friends or GP). We had a good time playing the 4E demo (thanks, Vyvyan!), and we're going to try to attend more in the future.

Player Sign Up Thread - Chicago Gameday North - April 26th - Antioch, IL - 4E Demo!

I'd like to sign up for Escape from Sembia. My wife's not on forums here, but can she be added as well? We're interested in trying out the 4E rules (and we haven't been to Bob's since shortly after he moved from Waukegan, so we're due :) ).

    D&D Minis on the Decline?

That's pretty much what happened to me as well. I also got tired of the randomness and find the pre-paints from Reaper and Rackham/FFG somewhat more appealing. I'm putting more effort now into getting caught up on painting my metal minis.

    Campaign Wiki recommendations

I've started looking at PmWiki (http://pmwiki.org/). Seems pretty good and I think it'll handle your criteria. Setup was easy (download the ZIP file, upload the unzipped folders/files to my site), but there may be permission issues if you're using your Comcast space (I don't know; couldn't hurt...

Looking for more players in far north Chicago suburbs

I got your message, I've sent a reply. Hopefully it gets through! Oddly enough, the first message you sent me originally had gotten trapped by GMail's spam filter (maybe the URLs made it think it was spam...?). I was looking for a different message that may have gotten caught when I noticed...

Deron - Did you ever get my reply to your e-mail message about this post? I haven't heard from you; just wanted to make sure it didn't get swallowed by a spam filter or something.

Looking for more players in far north Chicago suburbs

Our group is looking for another player or two for our weekly D&D (3.5e) campaigns. We play on Friday nights from about 7/7:30 until 11/11:30 in Gurnee. Currently we are alternating between two campaigns, one "regular" D&D (set in the homebrew in my .sig below) and the other Ravenloft. Each...

    customizable random treasure genarator?

The .Net Framework is a basically a set of libraries from Microsoft to run software created using their newer developer tools (granted, that's a very oversimplified explanation). Are you using Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista? If so, you already have the .Net Framework.
