    customizable random treasure genarator?

I don't know of any generators for the bags in G1, but you could create one easily in TableSmith (link in my .sig). It could look something like this: :Start 1-3,old axe blade for use as hand chopper 4-17,boulders, small ({Dice~1d4}) 18-19,bowl and spoon, [MetalType], battered ... :MetalType...

Town Generator - Final(?) GUI only Beta 0.22

Given that the last post was from over 5 years ago, I'm guessing not. I remember when this subject first came up - hard to believe it was in 2002!

    Computers at the gaming table

I've been using a laptop for DMing for years and haven't had any complaints from the players, but I never have any chat windows open or browse the Web or anything like that. I would consider that to be extremely rude, whether done by a player or a DM. I use the laptop for SRD access, campaign...

Magic Item Compendium tables for TableSmith

I've uploaded a set of tables for generating treasure based on the Magic Item Compendium system to the Table Gallery at Mythosa.net (http://mythosa.net/TabGallery.html) (I'm still working on putting in the actual values and weights for the items in the "MC Items" table, but that's outside the...

What Computer Programs Do You Use for D&D?

I may be able to save you some time; I just put the MIC treasure generation tables into TableSmith format. When I get a few minutes to upload them to my Table Gallery I'll post a notice in the Software forum.

How to Mouse Wheel Click to Open Tab?

Did you install the software that came with your mouse? I believe that's what allows me the option to assign the buttons for my mouse (Microsoft, "IntelliPoint" software). I don't know if those options are available with the default Windows settings.

Anyone else notice Goatse in the fantasy money?

Thank you! (I should have thought of that myself) Now I don't have to suffer the way I did when I ignored the warnings against searching for "tub girl".

    must-have XBOX / 360 games ?

Definitely Oblivion. I enjoyed Dead Rising but the goofy save game functionality made it rather frustrating for me. I'd also recommend Full Auto; I wouldn't call it a "must have", but it's a good game if you feel like racing through a city and blowing up lots of stuff :) I wouldn't have gotten...

    Objects/furniture/features for Miniature?

Megaminis (http://www.megaminis.com/) also bought Armorcast which made a lot of scenery pieces. I believe they also bought out Grendel (more scenery/furniture/etc.), though I'm not 100% sure about that. Rackham has started putting out some miniature scenery...

    PC on a Thumb Drive!

I don't have any definitive sources, but I've read about this as well. It's mentioned in the Wikipedia article on USB drives (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usb_drive), so that may be a place to start. From what I've read, for the most part this isn't going to be a problem for most people who use...

Laptops at the table - Do you use them?

I use a laptop when I'm DMing, primarily as a reference tool. I use it for: - Adventure write-up (in ActionOutline) - Adventure maps (JPGs/PNGs in default Windows viewer) - d20 SRD reference (d20srd.org, in Firefox) - Note-taking, combat management, XP calculator, treasure tracking (Excel) -...

Another one to consider is DicePro: http://www.rivalgamelabs.com/dicepro.htm Not sure if the numbers/buttons are big enough, but it's also free so it may be worth looking at.

Does anybody use Master Maze for their gaming?

That's what I do as well. I love MM, but if you're setting up the pieces as you play it does slow things down a bit, though not drastically so. I have mine organized in drawers so they're easy to get to. Regardless, having it set up ahead of time makes the game move much quicker. I use pieces of...

    Gmail SMTP problems

Quite likely, though that doesn't mean Comcast (or the other listed ISPs) might still not be making it an issue. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find anything recent on-line concerning this problem...

    Gmail SMTP problems

Sounds like that may be the case, according to this site: http://support.netfirms.com/article.php?id=009 "Our most recent research has revealed that the following ISP's require their customers to use their own ISP's SMTP servers: Earthlink, Comcast, Sympatico, AT&T, Charter Communications...

You can that sort of thing with TableSmith: http://www.mythosa.net/Utils.html. There's also a set of 3.5 treasure generation tables here: http://www.mythosa.net/TabGallery.html. New items can be added to the existing tables.

    Gmail SMTP problems

Anyone else having issues sending mail with Google Mail SMTP? I switched to using the GMail SMTP server from Comcast's when the latter was giving me problems sending to Hotmail accounts. But in the past couple of days I've been having problems - I often have to re-enter my password when I'm...

Wireless Networking on Vista Beta 2

Well, the Mahjonng that's included is nice :) As others have said, so far it seems pretty and a bit slow. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much yet since I installed it on my desktop computer, which isn't my primary. My laptop is, but while it has more RAM and a faster processor than...
