Can I insert the Adventure Path into Sharn without starting at the beginning?

First of all just in case anyone thats playing in the Adventure path is reading this this post would contain large spoilers. From what I've read of the path, it could be started from the third adventure without to much trouble. Nothing to critical happens in the first two adventures, but they...

Morality in your D&D - b&w or gray?

A mixture of both. There should certainly be dark wizards and evil warlords that are unquestionably evil. Yet at the same time I don't think the evil alingment should be a kill on sight tag for paladins. But I'm not trying to start an alingment debate so I'll focus on what I see things should...

    There is no moon.

I don't think you need to find new conditions for were creatures to change. What you need to do is throw them out the window. They will lose all the flavour and such that makes them intresting and no matter what new condition you come up with the creatures no longer a werewolf.

    DM Forcing Characters on Players

I voted mixed opinions. The first fact is that I would never want this to happen in a real campaign when the character given is yours permenently. However their are times when it could be a good idea. Giving the players characters for a oneshot isn't such a bad thing expecially if its trying out...

Whats the worst you've ever read? Scifi/Fanstasy

Yes they must be doing something right to keep selling yet that doesn't necessarally make then good books as this thread could attest as many as the disliked books have sold very wel.

Whats the worst you've ever read? Scifi/Fanstasy

I've found that in most cases if I look at what an author has wrote, and all he/she has wrote is one long series (say 4+ books) then it isn't a very good author. Of course there are exceptions, but there are always exceptions.

    Stupid Player Syndrome

Three incidents come to mind. The first incident involved a wizard that had a wand that cast some rather damaging ice spell that the wizard would use against monsters. Now there came a point when the party was trying to save a npc from a monster, and after the fight the npc was bleeding to...

Halflings -- what version (if any)?

I like 3.x halflings and I don't think they are anywhere near what a kender is like.

    A total list?

I don't think that a total list exists. The simple fact is that there are far too many products out there to easily make such a list, not to mention that a list of every monster out there would be quite useless to someone that doesn't own the oh 1844 products listed in Enworlds review database...

    Scaling Adventures in 3.5e

On the 15th level kobold issue, I agree with others that it shouldn't be something you just walk into a room in a dungeon and find. But a 15th level kobold should be possible, you just need to put some thought into why. Maybe its a cleric given this great power to be the champion of the god of...

    Dungeon 115 came today

I got the latest issue of Dungeon today, and since I haven't seen a thread about it yet, I'll post its contents. Adventures: Raiders Of The Black Ice Bracing for a terrible winter, the adventurers find themselves snow-locked in the desolate Archbarony of Blackmoor. Will they venture into...

Does D&D need equipment wear rules?

No D&D does not need equipment wear rules. The reason is that unless magic items are effected by these rules as well which would lead to a whole lot of unhappy players, such rules would be pointless in a normal game. If you look at the suggest wealth by level chart, once the party has gained a...

Which 'Campaign Classics' would you buy?

I'd buy none of the campaign settings the wizard just has sitting in their pockets from the days of tsr. I'm a big planescape fan, but I don't feel that one book could do it justice. All the intresting places and situations are what makes planescape intresting, and if you look at the orginal box...

the portal opens, would you go through?

Nope I wouldn't go. The thing is such campaign settings are always filled with much more danger, discomfort and other unpleasant things then exist living in suburban Massachusetts or just about anywhere else in the country. This makes good gameplay, its usually boring if there's no danger to...

Player Knowledge greater than DM knowledge syndrome

I agree with the others, tell him that he can't just dump this on you midgame. Also tell him that he can't just create a page full of npcs that would help him in his background. One or two would be ok in my mind, as it leaves a creative player room to make an intresting backround. Having a page...

    Placing classic adventures in Eberron

I don't think the against the giants series fits Xendrik. At first glance it seems to as drow and giants are both found there. But the problem is Xendrik is almost unsettled by humans except one city. That doesn't leave much for the giants to raid, or to motivate players unless they were just in...
