My @!@#! Player abusing Feather Fall

There are indeed different sources of stess. What source would it come from for a Quickened spell. Hmmm. I guess it must be something pretty intense since, you know, just a momment of it could cause you to drop dead. It likely doesn't have much to do with heavy backpacks or walking. Yup...

Against you? Perhaps since you have obviously slipped off your rocker. I said while casting, which is something completely different than "in the same round".

This, and some other free actions do actually require effort.

.... and to add insult to injury on your half-baked theory, a cross post quote from the Cure Minor thread:

My @!@#! Player abusing Feather Fall

Karinsdad, up until now you have been holding up the ambigousness of an incomplete list in a section of the rules, as being ambigousness in the rules as a whole. This is a section in a chapter that does not deal directly with the topic in detail, chiefly because that is the role of a seperate...

    CA: Spellthief questions

Sneak attack with a Sap, or even sneak attack with a sturdy set of boots. If you are doing so while they are unarmed or are unaware they don't get to hit you in the grill with an AoO against your unarmed attack. You still get the satisfaction of wacking the spellcaster, but subual damage make it...

Another magic item save DC question...

But that is what DC = 10 + 1.5*Spell Level is. A way to mathematically express the lowest possible DC for casting a spell of that level given the mechanics of the game. I'm just carrying it forward to the minimum DC for the spell cast by a [single] spell caster to create the item. Of course...

Another magic item save DC question...

It could be argued that DC = 10 + 1.5*Spell Level isn't going to be the correct minimum in all cases. In this instancu it is because because Web happens to be the highest spell level on the required spell list. For example a Cube of Force has Firewall (spell level 4) along with Prismatic Spray...

You can expect people here to say....stop metagaming? Seriously, keep your head down and your asbestos undies on cause the flames they are acoming. :)

Different sentence, same paragraph, same list, same implied possibility of incompleteness. It's VERY explicitness can also support the possibility of Quickness being disrupted. Why? Because there is a need for naming 1 action casting time to ensure that you couldn't mistakenly assume that...

    Rebuke undead question.

Those are NOT always the same if you are making a ranged attack with another creature, sure as a party member, that is providing cover to the undead.

My @!@#! Player abusing Feather Fall

Now this is really delving into Rules Lawyery, but the leading "Such as " implies a possibily incomplete list. So that is at best inconclusive (and thus poorly crafted). It simply cannot hold the weight of the section I mentioned that provides no such possible way out (save for error of...

    CA: Spellthief questions

This has intreged me. I don't have the book, so maybe these questions will seem...odd: Are those stats as cast by the original owner when you first stole it? Or does that get refreshed (automatically, automatically, or by active means) as the original caster levels up, increase attributes...

My @!@#! Player abusing Feather Fall

No exceptions there for Quickened spells. So yup disruption is on if you are casting any possible spell (no more than 1 action long, no Somatic components, Material components in hand). Now as for the first paragraph of that section: I think you may have misread this section? That seems...

My @!@#! Player abusing Feather Fall

Re: Power o'de'Cantrip Before even the issue of assigning a level you have included a metamagic within the spell. Featherfall does this for purely D&D legacy reasons (there were ways around having the spell function as it does but most likely rejected for flavour reasons). It should not be...

When you know the ECL isn't fair

Let him take levels till it hurts? You seem to have an idea of what powerlevel you are aiming for. Hopefully the player of the PC and your DM are at least close to the same page on that. You've already broken rules to try get him there. Just take the last logical step of hucking all...

Do displacement, mirror image, and blink all stack?

EDIT: Nevermind, my post was the sound and furry of restating the question as an answer, signifying nothing. Ain't no friendship here, it's just one big cycle here. Round, round we go. Round, round we go.

My purchasing habits you could question, but my reading skills are just fine. ;) I don't feel the need to drop cash on new books, and v 3.0 it says: "Any free-falling objects or creatures in a 10-ft. radius whose weight does not total more than 300 lb./level", along with Close range. Although...

Actually it's a non-descrimitating area effect. So the spell doesn't fail, there just are no valid targets for it to affect. The castor cannot directly choose who/what does or does not get affected. They just choose the center of the burst. More akin to setting off a fireball in empty air.

My @!@#! Player abusing Feather Fall

Bah! It wasn't like he sprung it on the GM right away. You'd think that if the spell was intended at first to be used that way it'd come out ealier, but even if he did plan it out ahead, the GM simply wasn't looking far enough ahead along and (what I think is the real lesson here) broke two...
