Way blocked by a Web spell

Hmm, anytime this has come up someone has always just burnt the web. But I guess trolls, and especially ones that live in water, aren't likely to be carrying around a lit touch (Dark Vision) or flint, steel, and oil. ;) Given that Attacking a creature in a web won’t cause you to become...

How do I make Mort's Rent an Item?

Spells aside, I smell adventure hook. ;) Mort could save the Instant summons for items worth having a 1,000 gp Saphire commited to it. If the item is still in the possesion of someone, then Mort is going to try Divine the location and possessor. He'll know the item very well, so he's got better...

    Beholder's Eye Rays & AoO

It's in the Combat chapter of the 3.5 SRD. That should put it in the 3.5 PHB as well. Likely no AoO unless specificaly stated otherwise in the description.

    Beholder's Eye Rays & AoO

*slaps forehead* Ah ya, that one. It says it explicitly though right in the Feat description I believe. This one I hadn't seen before. Haven't gotten around to reading though that skills chapter yet.

Touch attack on an opponent's weapon.

Disarm? Ouch. That's harder to accomplish than a normal Sunder since it basically has the same opposed roll but with an automatic failure if the opponent does damage with the AoO. I'm not trying to grab onto or pull/push the weapon out of his hands? Why should it be harder, I just need to touch...

    Vrock Spores: Disease???

He'd have plenty of call for it if he didn't adventure with Monks or would stop hogging the limelight at the front of the party.

    Beholder's Eye Rays & AoO

Ah, the way it read I thought it was his "opinion" that they were free actions. The 3.0 Beholder definately has no mention of free actions. So ya, no brainer. The SRD actually says Free actions rarely incur attacks of opportunity. Still I can't think of any single one senario off hand. So since...

    Vrock Spores: Disease???

Remove Disease counters it? For me it quacks enough like a duck that I'd treat it like a duck.

    Beholder's Eye Rays & AoO

The crux of what I was getting at is that ranged weapon attack is what appears to be ment by that table entry, not ranged attack. Note other entries in that section discuss spell specifics if applicable, Ranged Attacks does not mention spells. A ray is not a weapon, it is the damaging...

The value of a wall of iron

Around a corner is most definately not the same as through a wall. There isn't DC modifiers for corners, and the DM should adjust for that. But most dungeons are fairly enclosed areas with hard stone walls to reflect the sound around a corners with relatively little attenuation beyond that of...

    Attacks of Opportunity

I can't say I always do. The more obvious ones I don't bother with, at some point you gotta stop the handholding. They learning them too is good so they can make faster tactical decisions on their turn. However just tonight I reminded a player that his opponent standing up provoked an AoO. He...

    Beholder's Eye Rays & AoO

Be careful of that "fact" in how that text is interpreted. Remember that those tables are summarizing data, so they tend to use abbreviated text that can drop some of the subties. If you look down below the table in the Standard Actions section under entry Ranged Attacks: you'll see that they...

Psychic Warrior... Easy to make super powerful?

    1) He's heavily investing in melee. Select magic items can help over come this, and he could be a key part of a team, but he has limits to his application. 2) He's 12th level. At that point a lot of specialized builds can do dazzling things in their area of specialization. EDIT: Oops, I got...

The value of a wall of iron

Or my all-time favourite; "Why don't you get a piling on effect as other creatures hear the sound of battle?" If you apply Listen checks, especially on dungeons that have few doors, even with the distance penalties, there should be a good number of oppotunists converging within a round or two...

Touch attack on an opponent's weapon.

For a normal attack (Sunder) you and the opponent make opposed attack rolls. But if you just want to make a touch attack, to deliver a spell charge to the weapon, what is mechanism? I know this isn't that common. But i didn't even find the rules for a ranged touch attack on a weapon, or ranged...

    Scout Skirmish ability and AoO?

Rogues have a tough time using SA every round in melee unless they outnumber the opponent, or the opponent has poor mobility/tactics.

    Pounce Ability?

Automatic rake? Nah. However yes, #3 suggests a possible 10 attacks. #4 is just plain silly at 10 possible attacks at +2. Haste him and it's 13. Greater Cleave and you start envisioning the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes. EDIT: Oops, disregard the above. No Rakes on the same turn as the...

    Scout Skirmish ability and AoO?

Not nasty downsides, just limitations on how often and in what situations it can be effectively used. Given the contortions that a Rogue has to go through to use SA on anything approaching a regular basis, I'd say that the Scout has it easy.

    Scout Skirmish ability and AoO?

Ride By Attack is another option, if you're into mounted combat.
