    Raise dead after undeath

Desdinova is correct. Raise dead is one of those examples of it being specifically stated that the creature can't be raised in that manner. If your question is "Will Raise Dead work on a 'dead' undead character?" then the answer is no. If your question is (as I originally, and probably...

    rings of blinking and rogues

It's a problem in this case because, though it might seem logical that ethereal creatures or objects would be revealed much in the same way as with true seeing and see invisibility, the real problem lies in letting an evocation spell affect an ethereal target. That would mean that you could...

    [MotP] Zone of Respite: Overpowered?

People have brought up lots of good points. I think it just rubbed me the wrong way that a third or fourth level spell can prevent the functioning of many higher level ones. And because someone will likely mention dispel magic in response to this, please note that there is a significant balance...

    Raise dead after undeath

Unless it is specifically stated that the character CANNOT be raised afterward, I think there should be no problem, as the character's body is no more or less "dead" than before it was animated. If the physical body is not present, however, this may cause a problem as some spells require it.

    rings of blinking and rogues

That makes sense and isn't really addressed. They say what the offensive benefits of see invisibility are, but not the defensive ones. Since it isn't specifically mentioned, I suppose that officially the blinking person still strikes "as invisible" though this is probably the best case of the...

    rings of blinking and rogues

Well I can't make you CARE about the way the rules are written, only show you that they are written that way. I don't always agree with them either, but that's what house rules and rule-0 are for. But if you want to go by the official (3.0) rules, I'd stick with the way that things are written...

Templates + HD advancement = head explodiation

Actually, the example beetle they give in Sav. Spec. loses the Vermin SUBTYPE, but not the vermin traits. The template says that the creature retains all of the base creature's charateristics, and I guess that includes traits that are not somehow superceded by some template modification (such as...

    rings of blinking and rogues

Hong: Those pesky simultaneous posts.:) I see your point about the context of the 50% miss chance, so I think it's open to a bit of interpretation here. However, since the Blind Fight feat specifically mentions that you don't lose your AC bonus versus invisible attackers, not blinking ones...

    rings of blinking and rogues

In summary, have your rogue go get a ring of blinking and a ghost touch weapon (to avoid that pesky 20% miss chance) and enjoy the munchkiny goodness as those Fighters, Monks and Rogues with blind fight and uncanny dodge run in terror. :D

    [MotP] Zone of Respite: Overpowered?

Zone of Respite, a Clr 3, Sorc/Wiz 4 spell from Manual of the Planes seems extremely overpowered to me. The idea of the spell is that it creates an area that is temporarily void of interplanar intrusion. Within its area, Gate, Dimension Door, Teleport, or any other planar modes of travel are not...

    rings of blinking and rogues

The "no trouble" I was referring to was Plane Sailing's remark concerning visibility from the ethereal. Everyone still has a 20% miss chance when they're blinking, but they can SEE their target just fine. Uncanny dodge will not help in this case, as it specifically mentions that it lets you...

    rings of blinking and rogues

See invisibility obviously works against sneak attacks from opponents who are invisible (unless the target is some other way denied their DEX bonus). The blink spell and the ring of blinking are a separate case, as the subject who is blinking isn't merely out of sight, they're rapidly shifting...

    {Epic} Monster qualification for Feats

Actually, I believe if the ECL of a monster is 21 or greater it's considered to be an epic character. This is supported by the appendix in SS where they detail several ECL 20 creatures and say that epic rules must be used when "multiclassing," or taking levels in a non-monster class. In all of...

    Cleric Race?

I understand where you're coming from, but I'd have to go with Particle Man on this one. If you go by the PHB, trading two mental abilities for STR is EXACTLY the same as vice versa. I don't think taking a hit on a physical ability that affects EVERYTHING physical that a character does is...

    [A&EG] Dastana stacking with armor...

I don't remember where I read it, but I definitely remember seeing something saying that if you put on more than one item of a particular type (excepting types for which you're allowed more than one, such as rings), the second item simply doesn't function. Thus, no padded / plate combo.

    Does DR apply to subdual?

Apparently the game designers agree with you, because the barbarian's DR is getting a bit of a boost in 3.5. The radio interview with Ed Stark posted on the WOTC site is long, but it's got all kinds of good 3.5 info, including the mention of barbarian's DR. (edit: wrong quote... oops!)

    Centaurs & Lances

Actually, you bring up a really good point... Which leads me to wonder...what about a regular medium size humanoid who is mounted and carrying two lances? Technically, if you follow the regular penalties for two-weapon fighting (with a light lance in your off hand or heavy lance if you don't...
