Didn't PCs gain followers with class levels in those editions? I don't quite remember at what level (maybe name level?), but I do recall PCs gaining followers with associated troops (1st level fighters). A 9th level fighter might also be bringing along his 5th level lieutenant, two 3rd level...

Agreed. I've done it myself. I've only played games where there is just me and another player. I try getting systems (for the VP as well as the resources) and I go broke too fast before I can really start researching and then upgrading my ships... which I eventually try to do in order to go for...

I have both Border War and Congo Merc from Decision Games. They are part of the mini game series and are solo games, with the action driven by cards. I found that the newness wears off quickly and the games become boring after a few plays. Has anybody else tried them, and what do you think?

I don't normally like Euros, but Champions of Midgard is really fun! It's kinda addictive! Has anyone else tried it?
