    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

I agree with this 98%. It's just that I LOVE premade adventures. Hopefully they'll still support 4E with some good stuff.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

This decision makes me a little bit sad, as I was looking forward to using Paizo's products. I've never checked them out myself, since I skipped 3E, but they seem to be well thought of. Darn it, I'm a sucker for a good adventure module.

    Swordmage-> annoying...

I agree that classes should only appear in the PHBs (not the FR versions). I would hate to have to buy a book, when the only use for it would be to play ONE new class. Couldn't they save the Swordmage for the PHBII?

    Room Sizes...

Mike, I like what you've done here. I haven't had the chance to try it out, but it certainly makes sense to me. Good work! ;)

    Room Sizes...

What would be nice is if they showed us a little preview of Keep on the Shadowfell with a partial map of one of the dungeon areas...

    Room Sizes...

So what's the "average" size dungeon room going to be in 4E? It has been mentioned many times before that they are going to have to be bigger to accommodate for the expected 4 on 4 (or bigger) battles, and the emphasis on movement during battle. What do you think? The average room should be...

Bingo. As an aspiring DM, this is the answer. Give me the basic crunch and let me figure out fun ways to use them.

If 4th Edition didn't use the "D&D" moniker...

I haven't played RPGs for many years, and when I did, it was D&D, so I will admit to being caught in the 4E hype machine. That said, I'm also a sucker for high quality, full-color game books, which a lot of less popular, though possibly superior RPGs don't have. Therefore I am a shallow...

Picture of the Core Rules Gift Set...

3.5 Core books have boring art, so just about anything they put on the front of 4E is better. Otherwise, I agree that the majority of 3.5 books have better cover art - adventures included. The heroic tier adventure covers all look the same and rather dull (although the paragon ones look pretty...

Agreed. They do look nice. I have that set ordered.

Maybe there is a fold-out map of the starter town included. That could make it considerably wider...

I thought the PHB was supposed to be 100 more pages. It looks like about the same width as the DMG... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/0786950633/ref=dp_image_text_0?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books

Okay, where do you stand on diagonal movement?

Okay, where do you stand on diagonal movement?

Love your approach! I may just use it as well, although the 1-1-1-1 grid idea is starting to sound simple enough to try.

Okay, where do you stand on diagonal movement?

As someone who is planning on using minis and a grid for the first time ever (only because it seems like the game is going to flat-out demand it), I'm definitely in the 1-1-1 camp. Give me simplicity. I'm pumped for this edition.

    D&D 4E The problem I've having with 4e.

My vote goes to the pro rasslin' comparison (never thought of that one before), and everything Wormwood says - I seem to agree with every one of your (often short) posts, bro.

Encounter question from an aspiring DM...

I'm bringing this thread back for one last question... I don't really understand how dungeon tiles are used. Once again, are they only used for combat encounters? If so, do you just create the room the battle is taking place with the tiles, trying to replicate its dimensions and features the...

    3 on 3 battle results...

Well, actually I only used one daily power, the ranger's "split the tree" - which allows you to fire at 2 targets at once. When you crit your daily power, that's some major damage! The wizard power was the encounter power "force orb" which can also hit two targets (and it did - for real good...
