    Is D&D too PC friendly

I have to disagree with the basic premise as well. Having a pc die does not necessarily make the campaign more realistic. Does the threat of death make it so? yes. Does the threat of death affect how the players act? Yes. But arbitrarily saying 'in order to make this campaign realistic, at least...

    Location idea resource

The Brimstone Forge Located deep in the heart of the God's Teeth mountain range, the Brimstone Forge is a monumental cavern deep within the heart of Calphas Peak, tallest of the mountains in the range. The cavern is illuminated by the dull red glow of magma streams and the walls are floor bear...

Troupe of the Painted Soul (Campaign Ideas)

Well, here is always the traditional way of getting in trouble... while in a city controlled by a corrupt noble, they perform a satire or farce highlighting the failings and excesses of the ruler or rulers. The subject of the play of course takes exception to it and the party has to escape the...

    Cheap alternatives to Dwarven Forge

If you have some time and don't mind saving cash over a slightly longer term, try making your own: www.hirstarts.com It takes some practice, but you can make things every bit as good as the Dwarven forge stuff once you've gotten sued to working with it.

What the heck about the Realms is Forgotten anyway?

Well, I'm just venturing a guess, but IIRC, the 'forgotten' thing was a reference to Human having once had access to other relams and magic, but having forgotten, except in our imagination and flights of fancy... I forget where I read that, so I could be completly off the deep end ;)

    WWII spycraft

And you thought I wsn't coming back Well, I finally got to start my WWII Spycraft game. Today was the second session, and so far the players have had some clever ideas, and some bad luck. Bear with me, this is going to be long and rambling: P The Unit: 1st Lt. Nigel Wellington, British...

    WWII spycraft

Unfortunately, due to some real life issues amongst the group, we haven't played recently. I'm actually going to be picking it up in about 2 weeks, so hopefully I'll have some interesting tidbits to share. I haven't even been able to hit the FLGS, so I suspect my wallet is going to be hurting...

    WWII spycraft

I'm looking to solicit some ideas from the lovely and talented people here on the boards :D Once my current fantasy campaign wraps up here in a few weeks, I'm going to run Spycraft. The catch being that the campaign will start a year or two before World War II, probably in 1937 or 1938. The...

    I am a better DM than a player (THREAD-O-MANCY)

Well, I guess I'll chime in with a 'ME TOO!' I've been the GM for 90% of the time our group has been meeting, so about 4.5 years. We know have a couple of players who are capable GM's, so I'm actually getting a chance to play. The problem being that I've found that as a player, its much harder...

What personality traits would you give an "Anti-druid?"

Info on the other villians would probably be helpful. First off, what class is this villian? Is he actually a druid or is he an anti-nature wizard? The classic thing would be to have him utilize steam-belching mechanical horrors that consume trees at a horrifying rate to enforce his plans. Or...

    What's a giblet (sp??)

um, ok... Giblets: innards, particularly the innards of fowl Mountain oysters: bull testicles out west, pig testicles in the east, so I'm assuming they're talking about bull testicles if they say prarie oysters sweet bread: I believe that is brains, but don't quote me on that...

Pc's legal problem - help wanted (my players stay out)

This being D&D, it also depends on the alignment of the ruler/magistrate in question. Particularly with a Lawful Neutral or even Lawful good magistrate, the case could be presented for murder, or at least manslaughter, considering that the PC's full-well expected some form of combat, and even...
