    New Character Builder from WotC!

It is hard to remember what is fact and fiction right now but even if this was not said by WotC, it would not be hard to do and would not require a person any time besides running a reporting tool against the data. Now, separating good things and bad is another story. I have read they have...

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

Also it could mean they are looking at a plan to sell more space - think character slots in MMOs.

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

I don't remember but doesn't the installation of the CB need to contact the WotC servers?

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

The problem is, at this point we do not know what soon means. Soon meant getting Dark Sun into the current CB and it turns out we are NEVER going to get that.

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

WotC has a track record going all the way back to D&D 3.0 of not delivering on promises and they still have not. We wanted more tools, not a re-invent of the tools we already had. If they wanted this, they should have come out with a new tool first, tell everyone what the plan was, and...

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

I can tell you FOR SURE that these features are not in release. They have said so themselves. All you have to do is go read abotu the features, and what the lead person is saying about it. You can't even mix campaigns at release. Sure, maybe someday, but not at release, and nobody knows...

Or they will just use something else and someone else get's their money or they will continue to play 4E and not buy anything else or they will move on to something else that they think is a better company to deal with

November 16th release for Web-based Character Builder

And what about those of us that have been DDI subscribers form the get go and like the way the CB was before? What about WotC telling all of us that the CB update was on schedule a few weeks ago? What about that you cannot have access to digital copies of your characters unless you continue...

WotC should make an online SRD....

I suggest you read it again and please stop inferring that I think I am better or smarter than other people. I have not and do not appreciate the inference that I have. And, with that, I think my part of the conversation in this thread has run it's course. Thanks for the discussion.

WotC should make an online SRD....

Yes, he did. He talked about preserving gaming stores and sales of physical books. Maybe punished isn't the word - anyway- they are lumped in the same bucket as pirates and they as consumers chose that even though they really chose to support the product. Also, they cannot re-download their...

WotC should make an online SRD....

I don't blame consumers. If the products where not selling well, I can understand not creating NEW products. Pulling a product from the market is never a consumer decision, it is always a business decision (or a legal decision is some areas). Let just agree to disagree. We just don't have...

WotC should make an online SRD....

That is not what I am claming at all. I have said repeatedly to tie it in with DDI. There are 2 things going on - all of the information is out there is digital format through their CB/MB programs. Are they going to stop producing that? Also, on one hand, they are trying to get new...

    Enough with the halos already!

I don't like them either, and they are definitely not going to happen in games that I run. Not a fan at all. They do not need a rung around their heads to show us they are Psionic. IMO, not much difference in Psionics and Magic to the casual observer - they look the same.

WotC should make an online SRD....

I still think it was. The reason? It didn't stop piracy. Nothing will. There will always be piracy. Take a google at Character Builder torrent. The only garanteed way to stop piracy is to stop producing their product.

    LOL that is great.

WotC should make an online SRD....

So what your saying is that after the fact, it could NOT be the wrong decision to remove them? I could say the same thing for you about prove it. My proof exists on the internet, in a time line if you care to look as to what happened. All we can do is make a conclusion as to that time line as...

WotC should make an online SRD....

Yet they sell to Amazon and they have probably done more to close gaming stores than anyone else. So the lack of third party support is a plus for 4E? I am not sure that I know of anyone that would agree with you. It most certainly is a negative to everyone I have ever spoken with or to...

WotC should make an online SRD....

If they want to protect their IP, it is Sure, the only argument that it effected their bottom line is of piracy. That is all. It is STILL effecting their bottom line. I play 4E exclusively. I don't bother to read the anti-4e boards or the 3.5 boards. But I do know that 4e suffers...

WotC should make an online SRD....

They had them and then pulled them. That is a big difference. They were in the market. There may have been issues (for instance a lot of people complained about the price of the PDF). It was worthwhile at some point. What happened? All we can do is look at what we know happened. But do a...

Sorry, I don't buy that. Where there problems with PDFs? Sure, the same exact problem occur without the PDFs, only now Wizards has a harder time finding out who owned those PDFs. I think there are some people that would agree with me that this has nothing to do with how much they made selling...
