    Move Action before Charge Attack

The whole point of charging is that you can spend a move action first and thereby get double movement while still attacking. Otherwise it would generally be better to just move up and then use an at-will attack.

Fighter Encounter 1 - Rain of Blows

Why would a ranger want Rain of Blows? None of the weapons it works with are very good for a ranger. And Rain of Blows synergizes very well with Pit Fighter. Especially if you spend your action point on hitting the enemy with Chain of Sorrows first.

Avenging Paladin - Fair or not?

Once you realize that Attacks on the Run (ranger daily 9) doesn't require two weapons, you won't want a paladin daily 9. ;) Also: did somebody just refer to a paladin using both Hammer Rhythm and Heavy Blade Opportunity?

    That low magic progression table?

Also, remember that when your inherent-awesome AC bonus reaches +4, you should get an additional +1 while wearing light armor and +3 while wearing heavy armor, and the same thing again when your AC bonus reaches +6. Normally that's taken care of by masterwork armors, and if you neglect it the...

    D&D 4E Grid-less 4e?

As burnt says, some people do well with minis and badly without, or vice versa, regardless of system. Based on what people who've tried running 4e miniless say, it seems to me that if you could run other editions of D&D without minis then you can run 4e without minis, provided that a) the GM is...

Dwarven Weapon Training and Adventurer's Vault Weapons

In situations like these I find it unproductive to worry whether or not it's intended to work a certain way and prefer to just look at whether or not it should work a certain way. Eladrin is not a great race for any spear-wielding class, so I say go ahead and give them a free superior...

Let the Players Manage themselves Part 2

My answer that the last bulleted point proves the list should not be taken in order is invalided by... the last bulleted point? How does that even make sense?

    Paladin and Armor

Readied actions that take place in response to movement can interrupt the movement, actually, but only after the triggering creature has moved at least one square. So you're generally right about the player not being able to use a readied action to attack to attack an enemy moving away from...

Let the Players Manage themselves Part 2

If that list were meant to be step-by-step instructions of when to do each thing, then you'd be allowed to take actions during the first four steps.

Your PC is a cleric: what deity do you revere?

None of the above. It's the fluff, basically... I just like the Raven Queen's style immensely. I guess this is kind of like your bullet point about spheres, but I wouldn't necessarily like a different deity of death and fate and winter, is what I'm trying to say.

Double Weapons, Off Hand, and Tempest-style fighters

But it only gets any special properties on the main-hand part, right? So a +1 lifedrinker double weapon is like a +1 lifedrinker weapon and a +1 plain magic weapon. That's an advantage, but a much smaller one, gp-wise.

Double Weapons, Off Hand, and Tempest-style fighters

Not that I really have any faith in CustServ answers, but I like any interpretation that doesn't make double weapons totally superior to paired off-hand weapons.

Advantage of not doing physical damage?

There's the Lightning Arc feat at paragon. If you crit someone with your axe while it has its lightning feature on, you could choose to treat it as a normal hit but do the same amount of damage to another enemy 10 squares away. Granted it's probably usually better to just take the crit, but...

    Adventuers Valt Q&A

Don't dwarves get warhammer proficiency just for being dwarves, without needing a feat? And eladrin get longsword proficiency, which is the only melee weapon a wizard has any business messing with. (And that only for Spiral Tower.) So getting a military proficiency from the feat is basically...

    Adventuers Valt Q&A

Honestly, I don't think it makes a very big difference either way. I mean, we're just talking about one feat that the character does or doesn't have to spend. At very low levels that might be pretty significant, but it doesn't take long before characters have enough feats that one more or less...

    Adventuers Valt Q&A

In the case of eladrin, they're still hardly optimal for spear-using classes, since they lack a Strength bonus. (Or even a Cha bonus to go paladinning with.) Dwarves already make pretty good fighters, though, so I dunno if they really need a free superior hammer proficiency too.

    Adventuers Valt Q&A

The feat says "you gain proficiency with all spears", so unless there's some text in Adventurer's Vault saying otherwise, eladrin do indeed get a superior proficiency and a feat bonus to damage from a single feat. Which is cool, 'cuz eladrin fighters and warlords need the help. This would also...

    Adventuers Valt Q&A

You can do that with a double sword too, if you have Quick Draw.

Your PC is a cleric: what deity do you revere?

Yep! But since he can still only use channel divinity once per encounter, there's some serious diminishing returns on the value of those feats.
