Cavalier and arcane archer don't sound very basic to me. I guess it might be possible to deal with the issue by having one very generic path for each class, but I'm not sure how well that could be executed.

It seems like a terrible way to solve it, IMO. Now every class has the problem that there's no reason not to take a Path. If there aren't any paths printed that fit your character concept, you're just screwed. This is probably the first thing I'm really unhappy to hear about 4e. :(

Well, that's not bad. Double-sword is a dumb idea, but double-spear isn't so unreasonable.

Yeah, D&D's rules already let you wield a one-handed weapon in both hands for extra damage, so there's really no need to give a bastard sword special stats in the first place.

That doesn't really work, because you could perform two taxing maneuvers in a row, but not either one of them twice. This was about the only thing I didn't like about Bo9S, and I'm dismayed that they're carrying it forward into 4e. :(

You do get to hold the charge and try again on subsequent rounds, though. On the downside, getting a crit won't double your spell's damage. :(

Perhaps size penalties will be increased and/or applied to more things. I really hope they don't just give every race +2 to two stats. Races should have the attribute modifiers that make sense for them, not artificially given more or less just to have the same net bonus as other races. There...
