    Invasion by who or what

Themselves. Put another way, given the premise of mythological heroes, the invaders are individuals also claiming to be said heroes. According to the invaders, the PCs and their allies are the imposters and the invaders have come to reclaim their birthright. Which side is right? Perhaps...

What's Your Top 3 Most Favorite Movies?

In no particular order (in other words, they are all tied for #1). Ink - Independent low budget The Dark Knight - Big budget blockbuster The Incredibles - Animated Honorable Mention (tied for #2) Candyman - Horror Serenity - Sci-Fi Galaxy Quest - Comedy Edit: Forgot to mention Angel's Dance...

April Fool's Jokes on Your Players

I set up my daughter's My Little Pony toys on the game table before everyone arrived last night, pulled up that Ponyfinder thread here on EN World and told them we were going to try out the new MLP RPG. :D

What are the greatest published adventures you've run?

I've had fun with The Sunless Citadel every time I've run it and I've run it many times for different groups. Heart of Nightfang Spire was another fun adventure from that era (with a nifty potential story connection to Sunless if you run them both with the same group).

Going to my first ever convention!

My very first convention was Gen Con 2008 as a WotC booth volunteer. From that perspective, my advice would be... 1. Start small. If you go to a big convention as your first, the sheer size and number of things to do will be a bit overwhelming (luckily, my time was taken up mostly in the...

IMPORTANT! Should EN World continue reporting RPG news?

I have the news page bookmarked and check that out every day before clicking on the forums link and browsing through the threads...so I voted to keep the news. ;) As for it being work, delegate perhaps? :)

    3rd Edition D&D Collector's Guide

Much groovy, as usual. :D Minor note: According to my files, the D&D Limited Edition Chess Set was released in October, 2006. Unfortunately, my source is no longer available as it was the WotC official release schedule and they've since removed the 3rd edition era products from that page...

RPG Hot (and Cold) Spots - What are good (and not-so-good) gaming towns?

Colorado Springs, CO is, in my experience, warm. There's a fair amount of gamers, though its sometimes difficult to get a new group going (everyone is in a group already). Edit: There are three good game stores in the Springs: Compleat Games & Hobbies, Gamer's Haven, and Heroes & Dragons...

    Mystara Collector's Guide

Going through the list and I noticed the 1999 D&D Adventure Game was included. Are you aware of the related Fast Play supplements? D&D Fast Play Rules Eye of the Wyvern Wrath of the Minotaur Crypt of the Smoke Dragon As I recall, the rules of these and the '99 D&D Adventure Game were derived...

    Mystara Collector's Guide

Awesome, as always. :) I'm wondering if the Thunder Rift stuff should be separated out into its own subcategory, though. It is its own distinct mini-setting, though connected to Mystara.

    Walking away from a game...

While in the Navy and temporarily stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station awaiting transfer to training, I found a game group and joined in for a session. The DM informed me that he was running "true D&D, as it was meant to be played and originally played." Uh, ok. So, I roll up a 3rd edition...

Nearing 100000 members - How did you find En World?

Sometime around the beginning of 2004 I was unemployed and browsing around gaming sites instead of looking for work. :p As with many others, I had a different user name then. Due to some life transitions, including getting a job, I let that account die and didn't visit EN World for a while...

    New Year rpg Resolutions

Stick to my current plan of not starting a campaign until I have more than the beginning fleshed out (because I always lose steam and let the campaign die once the beginning is done otherwise). Read every game book on my shelf...ok...start reading every game book on my shelf and finish some...

[Colorado Springs, CO] Looking for a couple of Dark Sun players

I'm planning on starting up a D&D 4th Edition Dark Sun campaign for "grown ups" (ie, mature themes and exploring Dark Sun in all its brutal glory) in the new year. Our current group needs one or two more players for Sunday nights. Also note that I will be blogging about this campaign on the...

    Who's your favorite Villain?

From deposed dictator, to freedom fighter against the Klingons and his own government, to willing accomplice to invasion, to mad prophet...Dukat did it all.

    Who's your favorite Villain?

Memorable D&D Villains Venger - Pseudo D&D (from the cartoon) but very cool nonetheless. ;) Gulthias - Vampiric cultist of Ashardalon in the Heart of Nightfang Spire adventure from 3rd edition. Lots of cool, unique servants, kept a constant eye on the PCs, and the coolest part is that, if...

    Gaming and Family

When I was 20 years old and in the U.S. Air Force... One of the guys in my gaming group at the time said there was a new girl in his department that he was bringing to the next session. "Cool," I thought, "another player." And thought no more of it. The following week, the evening before...

    XP Levels Revealed!

Ack! Someone save me, I've been turned into a flumph! ;) Somewhat seriously, I think I liked the older XP monster line-up better.

How big is your RPG collection?

My collection wishes it was Gargantuan so I'll answer anyway. ;) I DM about 95% of the time when I'm gaming. I homebrew almost exclusively and use published campaign setting material for ideas and inspiration.
