(Tavern) City of Orussus, The Red Dragon Inn IV

"I'm Gurian. Gurian Barad. Spent much of the last year in a mercenary company mostly convincing some barbarian tribes to choose other lands, less capable of hiring soldiers."

    Which Pantheon do you use?

We use a small Aztec-flavored pantheon, the Greek pantheon, a specialized pantheon for one of the cultures, and there's a generic life-force type philosophy. What deities the characters worship depends on where in the campaign world they come from.

    KitanaVorr GMs again...but what?

No, but that's mostly a plot by players to keep people like you doing you bidding. Bwa, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha hackspluttercough Ahem.

    KitanaVorr GMs again...but what?

I've already stated my interest, but I shall do so again, so as to reduce the probability of being overlooked.

"I'm Gurian Barad, and my drinking companion is D'Artagnon LeDevereaux. I doubt either of us can afford too much in the way of carousing but, hopefully, someone will come along looking for a few folks willing to put themselves in harm's way for profit or excitement."

Gurian waves at the newcomer. "Welcome! Come on over and sit with D'artagnon and myself and we can tell each other lies until we're drunk enough to believe our own!"

Welcome to the Halmae (updated 2/27/07)

You're bloody well joking, right? That's ten years of gaming to write up. Admittedly, the last five years have been thrice-a-year sessions, but still... OK. If I can convince Fajitas and the GM to hand over notes, I'll see what I can do. I've already planned to do a SH for the GM's other...

"See, that's a matter of preference. I don't care much about my reputation, except as a professional. I do the job, I do it right, and I leave. I don't get paid to get hurt. I get paid to hurt other people or to protect someone. That's all that matters."

    What's the quintessential D&D monster?

Actually, there is a French myth that the bulette is based on. IIRC, it looks an awful lot like the MM bulette. I'll try to hunt down the site that I found it on.

    KitanaVorr GMs again...but what?

If you end up doing either ICCG or Gangs of Texas I'd like to throw my name into the hat.

"I AM impressed, then. I'd have thought somthing like that'd do little more than tickle a giant. My preference is to stand behind a line of folks with shields and strike folks from a range where they can't rightly hit me back. One of the worst moments I had was when a bunch of barbarians we...

"You killed a Giant? By yourself? I'm impressed. By the blade or using spells?"

    Wild Cohort feat [WotC website]

I will note that is the same site that has such fabulous entries as an "explosion of terrorists," a "grunt of weightlifters," and a "conflagration of arsonists." I get the impression that not everything on that list is... perfectly true.

"Well, if you can find a place that has a bounty on such creatures, it can almost be worth your while. Otherwise, it almost makes more sense to perform manual labor."

(Tavern) City of Orussus, The Red Dragon Inn IV

"I guess my fortune, once again, depends on the kindness of strangers. I just mustered back out of a mercenary company after some work in the northlands and funds are starting to run short. I'd heard that many people came here to hire folks for... troublesome missions. Hopefully something...

Ah. Well, color me embarassed, then. I misinterpreted your meaning. I guess that we're rather in agreement about things, then.

    KitanaVorr GMs again...but what?

To some extent, I find that having some sort of mechanics to figure out what a character can DO helps enormously to figure out exactly what they're LIKE. For instance: I had a character that I wanted to be really good at interacting with... somewhat shady people. He was to be the sort of...

    Help My Campaign #4: Wrath

One possible idea for powers of any beings corrupted by Wrath is any time they are hit (for any actual damage - if it doesn't get past DR don't give them a hit of double suck) it gets more powerful. +1 to hit, or +1 damage (or both, if you REALLY want to put the hurt on). It means that anyone...

    Po' Human Trash

An addition to this, which I touched on above, is to make them speak a slightly different language. The language should be clearly BASED on elvish, but different enough to make for serious problems with communication. Make your Bards (and those with prepared Tongues spells) shine. Then again...
