I do not have to use handle animal :P I attracted him as a cohort, therefore he wants to listen to me, it would be like making handle people checks for a normal human cohort, it makes no sense :P P.S. still don't understand the animal companion HD thing, but that's ok, it doesn't matter much...

Can I enhance barding? or add effects such as Calling? And also what are the AC bonuses that heavy barding grants?

I should have closed this thread but I have no Idea how to, but as it turned out awakened animals cannot be animal companions, so at any rate I wrote him up as a cohort (12 int. and can speak common) I took the leadership feat, so he joined in with 8 HD(+2 awakened) =10HD (effectively 8 though)...

I saw the table for how to level up a ranger and druid animal companion, but I didn't see where it says anything about improving the base attack bonus of your companion (I have a wolf) as a 10th level ranger my wolf is level 8 (5 + 3 improved animal companion) so anyways, what is it's base...

I play a ranger myself, so maybe I could swing some backstory magic into it :) (I haven't started this campaign yet)

Rangers can cast it as a a fourth level spell, (and a rangers caster level is 1/2 normal level) soooooo.... 4 x 7 x 1,800 = 50400/2 = 25200gp, I could probably haggle that a little more though :P does this work out correctly or are rangers not allowed to enchant things?

sorry for asking about specifics, but what dog, type/subtype/class or whatever works can all size changing abilities (please note that the size changing dog would be a animal companion or a cohort type of deal)

I know what to do! use your unseen servant spell to help craft the unseen guardian spell amorally mentioned, a dwarf wizard uses it to aid him in crafting weapons all the time, it should drop the Spellcraft DC a little bit :)
