GP, lootz and lutez. Honestly, I do make sure that my characters have in-game reasons to adventure and delve. Even if the reason doesn't make it into any gaming session, I often will write it in narrative. Otherwise, I'd just feel like I have a lost, aimless character and that's no fun...

I'm a player, not a GM. But I sincerely hope that my current campaigns will remain 3.x. Especially since I'm a bard in one and a skill-point-loving rogue in the other. :p

I can't even begin to tell you how much gaming has helped me break a very thick writer's block. Keeping character journals has helped me with my other writing and it has definitely helped me with improving character voice and dialogue. I'm not even a fantasy writer, but just creating and...

The only time I've "cheated" was due to poor arithmetic. I find intentional cheating sad.

Some folks like me don't really "count" the pips. I look and see the pips and it just translates to the number. Rolling sneak attack dice or the 4d6 for stats goes more quickly for me with the pips and actual counting happens with the numbers. We're just wired differently. :)

Am I the only one who likes Complete Scoundrel? The PrCs are a yawn, but I love skill tricks. And hidden weapons.

I gotcha. For me, numbers are difficult to conceptualize for me. I have to look at them as sort of pictograms. For example, a four has four points and a five as having five points. 6, 8 and 9 are trouble. Higher function mathematics, trig, calc... I don't have trouble with them. But...
