Whats on your D&D/d20 Wishlist (post-X-Mas)

The only books in print that I still want for are the 3.5 core books and From Stone to Steel. I haven't looked ahead with a discriminating eye yet to see what I want from the 2004 crop.

Names - What are the best you've used or heard?

I was playing a game where I used the Robin Hood angle and rather than use the names we all know I renamed all the characters. Best name: Dash Crimson instead of Will Scarlet. Dash Crimson has been used many times now in our group.

    WotC stores: dead?

It appears that some stores are simply packing up to be closed by January 1. Others seem to be holding sales (best I heard of was 30% off), but the merchandise was looking pretty lame (either shelfworn or simply undesirable). It doesn't look like all stores that will be open through Jan./Feb...

    WotC stores: dead?

First thought: good riddance to bad rubbish Second thought: odd how a chain built on Pokemon money is closing just before the release of the next big thing - Duel Masters.

    Seeking monster/adventure websites

About a year ago I dumped all of my roleplaying bookmarks from Internet Explorer and of course now I need to come scraping around asking folks for links to website that have good d20 monsters and good d20 adventures for use in D&D. Any help would be appreciated. :-)

Dawnforge: To buy or not to buy?

I'm enjoying the copy I bought. I'll take it for a test drive when my Arcana Unearthed campaign winds down. I really like the twists they put into the setting to make it feel like a setting other than the D&D we all know and love.

    GenCon SoCal Post Thoughts

I was there for all four days and I think it was absolutely excellent. My sole purpose for being there was to hang with the AEG/Warlord crowd. AEG did not let me down either. Their gaming booth was heavily staffed, they had lots of events, and they had the biggest crowd in the CCG room all four...

What are you doing on Sat., Dec. 13 at 7pm?

Wrong. You're going to be with me at the Anaheim Hilton (next to the Convention Center) watching the band Warp 11. "When you first see this band onstage in their Starfleet uniforms, you might momentarily think that this is a charade, or maybe even a parody band. But then they launch into the...

    [Dec] What are you reading?

I'm reading "The Once and Future King"... yeah it's because I saw it in X-Men 2. Im' about 150 pages in and so far King Arthur is still a child and the book is actually somewhat dull. I like the author's sense of humor and all, but I wish the story moved along rather than just the social satire.

How much caffeine do you consume a day?

I have virtually no caffeine in my diet. I've recently gone Mormon.

    Release date for Complete Warrior?

Your FLGS is able to sell it to you, the consumer, on November 21, 2003. That's the scheduled street date. If you need confirmation, then call your local retailer and have them ask their distributor.

    d20 D&D Adventures? - I summon the HiveMind

Greetings all! I'm summoning the hive mind so that I may generate a list of D&D adventures. I'm looking primarily for store bought adventures as I want to give a few as gifts to a fellow DM and I feel weird about giving PDFs or online content. All that really matters about the adventures is...

    Transparent Battle Mats?

Go the other route: transparent overlays. Go to an office supply store/university student store and you can get transparencies used for overhead projectors. You lay them over your mat and can draw and erase on them to your heart's content. Plus, you can have your maps predrawn on them. When the...

Why did you start the hobby?

It was the 1981-82 school year and I was in the fourth grade. Friends started talking about this game called AD&D. We tried emulating the game, but all we knew is the name, that it dealt with fantasy, and that the older kids were talking about playing it. That summer, my friend got the Fiend...

Got Skull & Bones, want pirate websites

I've been combing Google for good pirate website and they are few and far between. Also, there seems to be exceptionally little available that pertains to both pirates and gaming. Does anybody know of any good pirate sites that will be applicable to gaming?

Has Anyone Run Skull and Bones Yet?

I'm going to be running a series of one-shots for the game for the next half year or so. I'm going to run it by the book too, but it will be lower magic then the setting has it set for. I've got all sorts of ideas. How about a spectral pirate that has a serpent living in the eye socket behind...

If I ran an RPG company I would make_________.

I would make BOX SETS. Boxed campaign settings (especially a gritty space pirate one, a pulp one, and a space colonization one). Boxed adventures. Bold, new RPGs in box sets. A GM's tool kit in a box. Box sets are the way to go and nobodys making them - I guess the d20 gold rush made folks...
