    D&D 4E 4e Character XML Schema

I agree, standards are always good. Also doing the same thing with races as with classes would be good. Here is what I think the Half-Elf race could look like. <race> <name>Half-Elf</name> <choice tag="language">Draconic</choice> <choice tag="dilettante">Cleave</choice> </race>

    D&D 4E 4e Character XML Schema

I like XML. I'll post a lot later but here are my initial suggestions. Put all the attributes in their own root node. Also the class could be more in-depth because of paragon paths and epic destinies. It could be like this. (I used the Dwarf) <character> <!-- trimmed --> <class>...

    What happens to petrified characters?

Petrified: (Player's Handbook pg 277) You have been turned to stone. You can't take actions. You gain resist 20 to all damage. You are unaware of your surroundings. You don't age. The Remove Affliction ritual on pg 311 of the Player's Handbook says that if cures petrification.

    Nephilim (my own take)

I only really talked about Angelic Grace and the feats. Here are a couple of other ideas. The combination of wings and Divine Inspiration seems to put the default racial abilities above that of other races. Divine Inspiration: While you don't know the result of your d20 before you reroll...

    Nephilim (my own take)

This don't seem bad, though I would either remove the -2 penalty or move it to level 21. Since difficult terrain makes it impossible for most enemies to shift. Combined with a fighters Combat Challenge means that every Fighter nephilim will have this feat which is a good sign that it is too...

    Ranged flanking and ranged OA

The ranger could punch the goblin because you can use unarmed strikes for OA. He could also use the ranged weapon as an Improvised melee weapon.

A discussion of Keith Baker's post regarding the Skill Challenge system

I mentioned in your Skill Challenge system thread but I really like his house rule that allows the players to use an Action Point to reroll a failed skill check. Also do you know how would his house rules affect his player's success rates?

    Nephilim (my own take)

The main problem I see is that Angelic Grace is WAY too powerful. A Nephilim with a 20 wisdom getting a +5 to all saving throws is absurd. There is a human feat that only gives a +1 to saving throws. A +5 at level one means they only fail saving throws on a 1-4. At level 30 they would never...

Stalker0's Alternate Core Skill Challenge System: FINAL VERSION 1.8!

Keith Baker just wrote an interesting article about skill challenges. Link I bring this up because one of his house rules is allowing Action Points to reroll failed checks. I think some use for Action Points in your version would be a cool addition.

Stalker0's Alternate Core Skill Challenge System: FINAL VERSION 1.8!

When I read the first version of your skill challenge mechanics I was hesitant to try and use it. However, I feel that your new version has improved a lot. Now I feel that not only are the numbers better then the ones in the Dungeon Master's Guide but that it would be more interesting to run...
