Jericho (New TV Show) - ComicCon Review (Spoilers)

Interesting note: I live in Lawrence, KS, where they're filming parts of the show. The other major production in our town was The Day After, a movie about the fallout after nuclear war. Scary, huh?

    Good archer builds?

There's a feat in the Dragon Compendium that lets you add your dex mod to damage with a bow. Archers tend to have high dex anyway (except for cleric archers), so it's a good buy. There's the splitting weapon enhancement from one book or another, that doubles your ammo as you fire it. I think...

    Two Weapon Rend: weak?

The feat doesn't say either way. Personally, I'd allow it. The feat describes it as each hit building on the next, no reason why you couldn't build with a quarterstaff but you you could with two clubs.

Healer equivelent to Warlocks and Warblades?

I don't think unlimited healing per day is a bad thing, and wouldn't really break the game, especially if all the classes are balanced for a per-encounter game. That said, the binder from Tome of Magic, can, as early as 5th level, bind Buer, who gives fast healing 1 and a Cure Light Wounds-ish...

    Bard song question...

Does it take a standard action each round to perform Inspire Courage? Ignoring the 5 rounds it continues afterwards, can you sing in one round, and continue singing and attack in round two?

    Two Weapon Rend: weak?

At that level, it's not unreasonable for even a "low-strength" fighter to have an 18. (14+belt +4) And with three attacks with each hand, you're gonna hit with both weapons pretty often, so it's just an extra little "oomph". All in all, seems good, but not top tier. Which is fine. I don't...

    Guessing value of shady stuff

Use diplomacy. Per PHB page 71 "Diplomacy includes etiquette, social grace, tact, subtlety, and a way with words." Knowing how much to tip the matre `d is etiquette, so applying it to bribes isn't too much of a stretch. DC 10 for the corrupt guard, DC 25 for deeply underground slave ring, etc.

    Force Claw

Technically, if it didn't threaten the 20' cube, it couldn't take any AoO. Therefore, I'd say that it treats all squares in the cube as threatened, including for movement.

PHB 2 Afflitations - are you using them?

I plan on using them, with Penumbra's Dynasties and Demagogues, to do a highly political game set in Sharn. I think I'm going to set it up so that there are affiliations for each group in Sharn (Baromars, Morgrave University, etc) as well as affiliations for each councilor's ward. I figure...

    Gestalt Artificer and ?

Whenever I make a gestalt character, I try to make sure that I have all the bases covered. All good saves, at least d8 hit die, and medium attack progression. That being said, here are the classes that fulfill those requirements. Ranger - gives you full Attack bonus, a few spells, the ability...

    WoW 10-day Free Trial

Nah, it gives you the option to download the client. Of course, you do have to have a credit card. Argh! Hopefully my nice email to Blizzard can cut me some slack.

The Trend from Prestige to Base

I'm all for both base and prestige classes. I think that it brings several more options to the table as to how a player wants to build his character. It also means that just because someone in the game casts a certain spell, or takes a certain action, that you can't just say that they are a...

WinXP and Vista Dual boot questions

So I'm wanting to tinker around with the Vista beta. I'm wanting to install it as a dual boot, so I can choose which one to log into each time I turn on the PC. Right now I have one hard drive, that has two partitions. C is 10 gigs, with about 2 free, that I keep my WinXP installation on. D...

Well, I'd be willing to take one off your hands :D fat (underscore) man (underscore) standing AT yahoo dot com Even if you don't pass one along, you're a pimp for handing them out like this.

    Duskblades and Somatic components

In a by the rules interpretation, you're right. A duskblade would have to be able to hold a weapon in his off hand in order to cast, so no heavy shield. My opinion? I'd let him use the sword as a somatic component.

What happens when a disjunction hits a blessed book?

Ooh, ooh, I get to correct Hypersmurf! Ok, back on topic, I think that it'd be unfair to kill the spells in the book. I'd probably steal the fountain idea.

    Animate Dead

Chalk another one up in the "Agree with Magesmiley" column. If it wasn't tracked seperately, how would you deal with a Wiz3/Cleric7/MTh3? And Mage, he did say he was looking for SRD only.

    Soulknife build recommendations

Soulknife works really well multi-classing with incarnum classes. There are soulmelds that you can get that give you the ability to do a short range dimension door, or turn ethereal whenever you move more than 5 feet. There's a post on the Wizards' CharOp boards (which seem to be down at the...

Eighth Level Druid Spells, Greatest Hits

All from the spell compendium Bombardment is a long range, 15-foot cylinder spell that does 1d8 per level, reflex half. If they fail the save, they're buried, can't move out without a dc 20 strength check, and can't cast spells with a somatic component. Brilliant Aura makes your allies...

    Crazy gesalt vs. multiclassing question

Don't calculate the bonuses at each level, just the best progression. Otherwise, a wizard on one side with a fighter/sorcerer on the other side would have full BAB. Basically, add up each side as if it was a seperate multiclass character, then take the best of each value. BAB: +4...
