    save me from Quark, somebody...

I've been working in Quark for years, and although it's not the prettiest, it's always treated me reasonably well. Now I'm putting together a pdf for Print On Demand, and of course Lulu.com doesn't want embedded subsets, as far as fonts are concerned. I can't get anything BUT embedded subsets...

Publishers: Why'd you name your company what you did?

It was a phrase that came to me late on night while talking to one of closest friends. About thirty minutes after the thought of running my own publishing company came to me late on night while talking to one of my closest friends. It just felt right, then. And it still does. :D

Writers Wanted for Dog Soul's Folkloric Line

We certainly could - for our Urban Legends line. :D Look for The Oak Island Money Pit coming out the beginning of August. But seriously - Sleepy Hollow's a wonderful idea. Regardless of the fact that it's been done, it's one of those things that could be done again. If anyone wants to send us...

Writers Wanted for Dog Soul's Folkloric Line

Actually, each book is based on tales gathered from a particular earthly culture. i.e. Russian, Japanese, English, Inuit, Maori, etc. This offers each author a delightfully deep pool from which to draw.

Writers Wanted for Dog Soul's Folkloric Line

    Illegal PDFs

It's just sad to watch a culture have such little respect for things of value and/or sentimentality. eBay has become the Great Pawn Shop in cyberspace. It's people like this guy that'll take their wedding ring down to Cash America for beer money...

What kind of Sales can you expect from PDF?

I even wanted to experiment with product-inspired t shirts for this holiday season. To see if I could either expand awareness of some of the books Dog Soul's going to put out, or just get (future) fans of our products to buy more stuff. I had looked at cafepress.com - their rates are very good...
