My very first adventure was the one that came with the Hollow World box set, where we had to chase down a sun-wight.
I hope I would have enough sense to get my magic-user climb up a tree to avoid the pack of wild boars instead of wacking them with my staff. Maybe I should of saved my Magic...
Just a thought, maybe only "Outlander" characters are created using the normal D&D rules and if you want to create a character from Ravenloft itself, you use the new box set with the character opitions there. This would be similiar to early 2nd edition Ravenloft where it was the Weekend of...
Not only my previous characters, but I tried doing D&D versions of the cartoons I grew up with, like Lion-o and She-ra. The character builder was the only reason I got DDI. Everything else is just a bonus.
I started with RC D&D and then moved on to 2nd edition. While I enjoy running 4th edition, 2nd will always have a special place in my heart. I been trying to get my group to let me run a campaign, but no luck.
They are in Glantri, near the albino werewolves, French Wizards from Clark Ashton Smith short stories, and the Spanish Elves. That is just a little bit. Glantri could be its own campaign setting in itself.
First thing I ever bought was Hollow World from Waldenbooks. Relizing it did not have the rules, I had to go back and get the Rules Cyclopedia. I guess that puts me in the Basic/expert set crowd.
I voted for the Rules Cyclopedia, but first product was
Hollow World. We went all the way home and tried to play
but only to find out that we didn't have the rules. We
went back and picked up 2 Cyclopedias( for me and my
dad). The store was a Waldenbooks.
