How do you work sex into your campaign?

Well so did I, quite frankly, but the bard had a Cha of 18, and the wizard's was 12 (so he wasn't a gimp or anything). Plus, the bard was Chaotic Neutral and had just rolled a natural 20 on his perform check, so basically the whole town thought he was Elvis the Elf. He intended to just use...

How do you work sex into your campaign?

I have to admit I deviate from the norm in this regard, at least if the posts in this thread are anything to go on. The last time I DM'ed, an elven bard character tried to seduce a young human lass who worked at the little bed & breakfast at which they were staying, but his (lower Cha) elven...

[GameCube] Just finished Zelda: The Wind Waker...

You may or may not know this, but they are making a Final Fantasy Tactics game for the GBA. I don't know about you all, but I can't wait for it. :) EDIT: Oh yeah, and as for the original topic, I tried to play through Zelda again with the blue outfit and color camera, but I got bored pretty...

I killed the Iconics. Twice in one night.

So... was the animation closer to the movie Final Fantasy, say? Or was it more akin to something from a cut-scene from a typical console video game? It does sound pretty interesting, but someone mentioned there are only 4 real endings? Those old "choose your own adventure" books had more than...

    Gunpowder in your games

In the last campaign I ran, I let the elven bard PC carry and use a unique rifle. It attacked as a touch attack but could only fire every other round (d12 damage). I figured either do it that way or be prepared to have firearms in a campaign that never get used because a bow will always be so...

I killed the Iconics. Twice in one night.

This product sounds intriguing. Where can I get one? And how much is it? Is it really worth the money? What about replay value, etc.? Does it use real (human) actors or is it animated?

Thinking about hanging up the D&D (not RPG) towel (longish).

My problem with d20 in general (not to even get started on 3.5e) is that it's way too complicated for what I consider "fun play." That is, most average-schmoe type players, with a good imagination and an idea for a character, who just want to "get things going and play," are often left sitting...

Anyone not getting the 3.5 books? (at least right away)

Add my name to the do-not-call-list. I thought little of the new rules coming out in the first place, but after viewing most of them, I'm convinced that they do indeed suck. It's only a cheap ploy to make a quick buck at the gaming community's expense, and I for one feel that it will...

    Disturbed Individual With Sword(OT)

The only thing that's Politically Correct any more is being anti-PC. To the revolution. Now.

Are you glad that Increased Threat Ranges no longer stack?

The problem I have is that Andy Collins and others are claiming that these changes (and all others for 3.5e) are about increasing viable options for players; frankly I just don't see that happening given the rules changes they are implementing (there is no changing them at this point, the books...

(VERY OT) I'm thinking about getting an X-Box...

Heh, I bought my GameCube first, and I do love it. Zelda, Eternal Darkness, Mario Sunshine and others are all awesome exclusive titles. I highly recommend it. I also have a PS2 for my RPG needs (FFX is why I bought it). But I too, am now seriously considering getting an X-Box as well, mainly...

Are you glad that Increased Threat Ranges no longer stack?

I don't see what's humorous about it (and I sure doubt the fools at WotC do, either). Shelling out ~$90 for 3 books that I have to houserule the hell out of doesn't seem like too good a deal to me, anyway. So far, the few rules changes that I don't disagree with are very minor points IMC (like...

Are you glad that Increased Threat Ranges no longer stack?

In short, no. It won't let me vote, but I'd like to chime in and say that I think this rule change borders on idiotic, and in fact I'm wondering (based on this change) whether I will even be buying 3.5 at all.

    Palladium and other fantasy RPGs...

I have to chime in that the PFRPG setting is probably among the best there are (although personally, I think Scarn is better; YMMV). A great little book they were advertising in Dragon several years ago (although I think it's still available) is called "Adventures in Northern Wilderness."...

Still Here ... Just Burned Out

If you're feeling depressed at the end of May, I seriously doubt it's because of the weather. The economy doing so badly and the possibility of a third world war creeping ever upon us, now that I can understand. Here, the weather could not possibly be any better.

Dungeon #99 - Is the end near?

(Emphasis added) I agree. I think that, although I can recall two of the poly mini-games being something that I'd like to see a little more added onto (preferably in future issues), such as the Pulp Era one and the Mutants of the Apocolypse one, I don't see why they don't do more on those cool...

New base classes for D&D coming--what could they be?

I'd place money on the Archer being a new core class. Of course, they would need to take out the archery feast associated with the fighter, and probably add a few more special abilities, and then probably take away some armor and weapon proficiencies...... It seems to me that (a.) magic is...

Is your love for 3E waning? Waxing? Staying steady?

I agree with you Teflon Billy. For a long time I've been seeing posts on this board saying they want to play in a low-magic campaign, and for a long time, I never understood that position. Now I also yearn for that type of game; not necessarily grim&gritty (still heroic), just something where...

What NON-OBVIOUS stuff would you like to see in Revised?

I am saying get rid of the favored classes. If you want to play a dwarven druid, go ahead. If you want to play an elven ranger with a few druid levels, go ahead. And, I believe, if you want to play a half-elf with any combination of levels in any base class, go ahead (that's what half-elves...

What NON-OBVIOUS stuff would you like to see in Revised?

I think Druids should use the cleric's spell progression list, and have access to the domains of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Plant and Animal. All races should have "Favored class: Any." Half-Elves should get +1 to Cha and/or get no multi-classing penalty whatsoever (i.e., no -20% xp). Otherwise...
