Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [IC]

Alan shrugs. "Hmm... perhaps it was merely lesser vermin." He holds up his mindblade like a torch, looking for any creatures present.

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [IC]

Alan speaks quietly. "Sounds like some kind of beast is hidden behind the door... probably some kind of guard animal... so it's probably not smart enough to know we're here. Let's go for surprise... we'll need one person to open the door and step aside, while everyone else charges through and...

    Maddgoths Castle (Chapter 2)

Melkolf considers this. "Most likely, we'll find an evil mage very much in need of smashing, along with assorted minions, and quite possibly an array of deadly traps designed to slay intruders, several of them magical. But once we're through all that, there's sure to be a horde of powerful...

    Maddgoths Castle (Chapter 2)

Melkolf shrugs. "There are plenty of quite natural creatures in the Beastlands... but you can't summon them, because the Beastlands is an Outer Plane. It's the planar barriers that take precedence, here."

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [OOC]

I think that I'll probably be picking up my 4th and 5th levels as Binder levels. That's about it, although I may pick up an associated feat.

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [IC]

As Alan has cover from other attacks, now, he switches to a more offensive stance, focusing his energies on the goblin before him.

    Maddgoths Castle (Chapter 2)

Melkolf shakes his head. "Abberation? No, Mephits are legitimate Outsiders, from the Inner Planes. Abberations are a different category entirely... all the major sources agree, from Xiophanes' Monstrous Codex to the Great Book of Beasts. That being said, they are more biologically advanced...

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [IC]

(ooc: oh, you were actually moving... in that case) Alan follows Cursed to the junction. "Left. No reason, just a choice that must be made. You could try some lights down the other way, but I doubt it would fool anyone, if you consider the setup. Either we're walking into their main base...

"We need to act. There's only one direction we can go in now... shall we advance, or wait for them?"

    Maddgoths Castle (Chapter 2)

Melkolf raises an eyebrow. "A bat? That wouldn't work... how would it secure the rope? It has to be something that can fly AND has hands... a Mephit, perhaps?"

Alan watches it carefully as it moves. "Well... that can't be good..."

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [OOC]

Ah, in that case, I won't bother. I just wanted to avoid the whole no healer thing. Incidentally, as I was thinking of doing so anyways, I picked up Iron Heroes. My first thought was "Wow" My second thought was "That CAN'T be balanced" That being said... if you're suddenly including Iron...

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [OOC]

Hmm... looking over Truename magic, I've realised something... Truename magic quickly becomes impossible to use. Since the DC of Truename magic checks are calculated on the formula of 15 + (2 x CR), the checks quickly become ridiculous... for example, a level 20 Truenamer has to make a DC 55...

Wildwood Red in Tooth and Claw [OOC]

Also, since you're accepting Tome of Magic, I'm considering taking a couple levels of either Binder or Truenamer. As is, I plan to keep Alan advancing as a Hexblade straight on to 20th level... but I only need two Soulknife levels to qualify for Soulbow (although I'll take three, since I want...
