Epic Level Math Test: Fight 1 (Iconics vs the Efreet!)

Not every fight has action points, people often save them. Also, if it's an iconic team, it'd make more sense to add an elf ranger. Also, IME, no group has more than one leader, and that person is often goaded into it, but, once again, that's just IME.

    Is the math off?

I'd like to agree with this! What leader power gives the WHOLE PARTY (including the leader) a +2 or better (everyone apperently assumes every attack gets CA forever) to hit for every encounter a day, regardless of specific circumstance (IE: even on a miss). Which one gives the same to the...

    Non-AC Defenses

Then he'd be statistically 2 worse off then he was at level 1, which he could possibly not care about, his call. And that belt does NOTHING except raise his fort by 2, so it's not excellent in a non-numbers raising way.

    Non-AC Defenses

You apperently loose 4 to all primary defenses and 8 to the lowest. Get the 3 +4 epic feats, the +2 to all epic feat and the belt. You have now lost no ground on your low def and gained 2 on the other 2 for the low low price of 4 epic feats and an item slot dedicated to the persuit.

Wizards in 4E have been 'neutered' argument...

Ironically, that kind of thing is why all epic wizards are liches as well. Plus, well prepared wizard always wins. The gm did a slight fail in not using infinite gm powers to counter well prepared wizard. Just as planned is rather good. Perhaps an explosive runes hidden on the secret door...

Character ability v. player volition: INT, WIS, CHA

To a player, that's more or less the exact same action. You have stupid person A run into a puzzle, you figure it out ooc , then your character does IC. Heck, if you really want puzzles, make a puzzle, if the player figures it out, have Krunk the barbarian smash the puzzle with his axe to solve...

Character ability v. player volition: INT, WIS, CHA

Celebrem said you are not supposed to always win as a statement of fact. Following that, then yes it is. If you are alone and your weakness means something, you are supposed to lose, else the weakness is meaningless. Or you are Batman and can breath in space.

Character ability v. player volition: INT, WIS, CHA

No it isn't. If a stupid character is stuck as the sole person who is supposed to work on something that is defined as being beyond him, he's supposed to lose. Pulling a Eureka Maru whenever you are railroaded is like saying "Oh, I missed? Actually, the bullet bounced off a wall and hit that...

Character ability v. player volition: INT, WIS, CHA

As an aside, 4th ed's standard rules helps mitigate this quite a bit, as there is only ONE dump stat at best and it's only 8. Another thing I see glossed over often enough is the views of an int 24+ person to a normal person. As the high int person is actually a fair deal more smart from a...

Character ability v. player volition: INT, WIS, CHA

The weak skill monkey is not allowed to talk their way out of every combat then? Or even most of them? Do those disadvantages have some actual mechanical effect or are they just "You need to roleplay being bad at this." Cause if it is balanced by the mechanical effect, you are double charging...

Talk to me about beastmaster rangers

Plus, your turkey companion can push 600lbs by the rules. And their defenses and attack bonus scales with your level. So you get the legendary omni-transcendent turkey of complete and utter doom at level 30. Isn't that good enough to take it?

    How will superior implements work?

I hope it's not scaling bonuses to hit. Only damage should scale, tohit is supposed to be constant (excepting with that expertize feat)

    How will superior implements work?

Fixed damage adds and +1 to hit. If I had to guess. Hopefully the +1 to hit.

Best Cleric race? (sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

You will still suck at hitting, is the thing. You can make the whole hitting thing less important, but you still are in a bad way. Distant advantage+astral seal is accurate, for instance, but occasionally something cool is vs fort, which you miss usually.

Best Cleric race? (sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

As a side note, a 16 with an implement stat is somewhat harsh going, speaking as a 3rd level cleric with said bonus.

Best Cleric race? (sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

Longtooth shifter is a +2 str +2 wis, great if you want to split the stat v. Plus, regeneration whilst bloodied is rather useful.

    Which feats are "taxes"?

It's actually close to that at epic tier if in the first case, the taclord before you missed with lead the attack cause he didn't have the +3 from experties, and neither do you, compared to the second where he hit. Plus, it's negligent to not try to be more survivable if you are going into...

    Primal Power Discussion

That one feat raises my camp's 17th level barbarian's ac by 5. The epic one that stacks raises it by 2 more. That's a giant move. His ac will be defender levels, plus defender hp. But doing striker damage.
