Adding another log. Lightning Panther Strike.

If I recall correctly, in the Mongoose Conan, Conan does have the ability "Pantherish Twist". As well as the much more awesome "Crimson Mist" and "To Sail a Road of Blood and Slaughter" class abilities, from his Barbarian and Pirate levels.

Races & Classes details from the WotC boards

No Half-elves in Races and Classes! This just posted on gleemax by kunadam: So, when Wizards wrote Races and Classes they didn't have half-elves, but since then they've decided to add them back in? Have Wizards gone totally mad? They had a wonderful opportunity to get rid half-elves -...

    Spells using a Point Pool?

Ever met this guy before? Seen him around? He's the only person we've heard of who claims to be a playtester, he just mentioned it to someone he met in a store and from your description he was careful to find out what your knowledge and opinions of 4e were before he started saying anything. At...

    New Design & Development: Feats

    That makes sense. Thanks.

    New Design & Development: Feats

Golden Wyvern Adept is a bit of an odd man out in these four. Why is it a feat rather than a Wizard class ability? In contrast the other three feats are very generic. I could see any character wanting to take them. Also, is First Reaction is the first time we've seen a use for an action point...

    Product Blurbs Up on Amazon

I was wondering about the "epic destinies" myself since we know base classes are a mechanical concept and we've heard paragon paths mentioned by the designers. I'm guessing that the paths and destinies are what are replacing prestige classes.

    And the mystery race is...hated

I was just thinking of how best to explain dragonborn to a 5 year old, then I got it: "They're Dinosaur Men." All 5 year olds love dinosaurs!

Prophecy of the Priestess, Part 5

Is now up on Greg Bilsland's Gleemax blog. There isn't much 4e crunch, but there's this:

    Naming Fourth Edition

Well it's true that I said that, but I'll point out here that it's just a theory.

    Races & Classes spotted?

Why isn't "tiefling" named "cambion"? My guess is because "tiefling" is Wizards' intellectual property, but cambion, as the english word for a half-demon, can't be made into it. There was a quote a while ago from one of the developers that said that's why they produce so many compund names for...

    Hungary?!?

Well, Morbiczer has been posting here since 2004. This is the post from Morbiczer last year where he says his local store had the Fiendish Codex II a few weeks early. In later posts in the same thread he gives spoilers for what was in there. I don't have the FCII, but were his previews correct?

    Hungary?!?

The preview card for the Spined Devil was posted on a German site roughly three weeks before it's official November 3 release date. And Helium 3 says he's already been writing a review of Races and Classes. I suspect that a lot of stores get products early but they usually honour the release date.

    Races & Classes spotted?

Then there's this picture on the Wizards site, which is handily labeled "Tiefling Warlock." Note the spiky chin. And if the horns aren't straight, they're less curvy than the female's. I think the pictures you're identifying as dragonborn are all male tieflings.

    Races & Classes spotted?

What if I like halflings but not gnomes? What if I like elves but not half-elves? What if I don't like half-orcs? Or monks, or spiked chains, say? Well, I was stuck with them in 3.5 in exactly the same way that people will be stuck with tieflings and dragonborn in 4e. The previous editions...

    Class List: HOW MANY?!?

I think it's this one, especially since they have to have written races and Classes months ago. I'm guessing they decided to write a lot about the classes they had all agreed were going to be in the PHB, and less about those still in contention.

    D&D 3E/3.5 4e Crunch, 3e Flavor

Especially since Wizards have said that they'll eventually be releasing every base class in the 3rd ed PHB for 4th ed; though I don't know if they've said they'll do a full PC version of the gnome there are PC notes in the 4e MM gnome writeup. I'm guessing that there will be Wizards versions of...

    New Ampersand from Bill Slavicsek

Bill Slaviscek has a new Ampersand article up on D&DI. Here're the parts with 4e material, though I think we've seen most of it before:

Greg Bilsland: Prophecy of the Priestess Part IV

When I read the first Prophecy of the Priestess article I wondered if Bilsland was a big fan of Warhammer, what with the PCs arriving at a witchburning followed by an eruption of chaos. I haven't seen anything in the later reports to contradict the impression. I don't see nearly as much WHFRP...

Question for Mr. Rouse -Release date for Classes & Races

Bruce Cordell just put this up on his Gleemax blog.: So what's the typical time between a publisher getting their copies of a book and it being available at stores?

Greg Bilsland: Prophecy of the Priestess Part IV

Greg Bilsland has put Prophecy of the Priestess Part IV up on his Gleemax blog. It's rather large, so I won't copy it here unless someone asks. One interesting tidbit: Wilbur is a fighter, Valinae a paladin. At a guess they are using the fighter's attack of opportunity power mentioned in the...
