Cleave: Give me room to work, my minions!

I had not considered it this way. Hmmm.... It even works if you attack the minion and not the BBEG. The feeble kobold staggers and juts it horn into Thogdor's shin.

Cleave: Give me room to work, my minions!

Even if it not a killing blow, I can see the enemy you are attacking as attempting to get out of the way of a strike. Your cleave may just fleshwound the opponent, but the swipe of the sword/flail/axe whatever still continues to the next opponent. Edit: Just as a guess I think a "hit" would be...

Cleave: Give me room to work, my minions!

I don't know, I can see if the fighter gives a mighty swing and cuts through the opponent he is attacking and there happens to be an invisible bad guy there. That might be interesting. Besides, you can choose to move before you attack. I think. Sample Dialogue: DM: The creature in front of...

Cleave: Give me room to work, my minions!

That's the part of the movie where all the action stops. The bad guys back away and the really evil guy comes out to face the heroes. I'm not sure how it's going to play (haven't tested it with the new moving around-ness for 4e), but I think cinematically that's the way it's supposed to look.

Advertisements for Movies, Video Games, Board Games...but not RPG's?

With the announcement of 4th Edition, I was surprised to see the lack of television advertising for 4e. I realize I am not a marketing genius, but given the popularity of video games that reflect the RP mindset, recently and the size of Wizards of the Coast, and thereby Hasbro; wouldn't this be...

    Rodney Thompson on Multiclassing

Fluff, or requirement? The little part in the back of my brain that screams this should make sense says "OH, YEAH!" The other part (that DM's my group's games) holds to the maxim "Continutity... Schmontinuity, whatever, man!"

D&D 4E POL Settings in Literature to Base 4e Settings On

I appreciate these and will look them up as soon as I can. Some of them I have already read, but need to give a good re-examine to. Keep them coming, please. :)

D&D 4E POL Settings in Literature to Base 4e Settings On

I just thought, Neverwhere (Gaiman) would be a good example of fey-wild-esque (modern) adventure.

D&D 4E Raiders of Oakhurst: A 4E Fan Playtest Adventure

I think the "m" is a regular attack for OA's (at-will, usu.) I think "M" is the "power" attack for standard actions (at-will, usu.)

D&D 4E POL Settings in Literature to Base 4e Settings On

This is my first thread on EnWorld, and I have seen a few other threads that have gone along with this line of thought. I was wondering if there was a thread that showed different places in books that show the POL Setting. The other thread on POL's seem to discuss how to create one, but I would...

    How powerful is Crimson Edge?

That's the way it is in the Star Wars Saga Edition, and one of the books said that it was a basis for 4e.

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

I just wish they'd call him a thief again. Negative sterotypes and all. I am kind of interested in that backstabbing feat. Do you think it will be optional for other character classes as well?

    'Build' Madness.

I am actually in favor of a more buildable class. Each of my players is relatively new to the game and while they have begun to see the advantages of slight powergaming, they haven't yet realized its full potential. In addition, I think that for older players and DM's it'll give a quick start...
