    Heroes of...

I was thinking about crunch and advice for intrigue n' warfare style games, not a campaign set in Martin's world, but I'll check it out. d20 you say? I did not know that. The artwork looked great. I usually shy away from basement publishers because of poor art, but this looks pretty good. Thank...

    Heroes of...

Heroes of the Throne is a fantastic idea, possibly as a Core companion for the upcoming Powers of Faerun. I'd surely buy a supplement for a George R.R. Martin-style campaign

Lord of the Iron Fortress - salvagable?

I kept most of it and enjoyed it. I changed the villain to fit a long-running plot, and used the Iron Fortress as the peak fight.

Forgotten Realms Dragon Magazine article ideas

Good luck with the article! I hope you get to do all of them. Have you seen the Realms Bestiary by Boyd and Costa? http://www.ericlboyd.com/dnd/monsters.html

    Dragon 334, Malhavoc's Surprise = Ptolus

Ptolus? Kewl. I hope it uses D&D rules, not the AE variant. If it does, I'm likely to buy it.

How good are the various supplements to Eberron?

I have only the third adventure (the one by Bruce Cordell), which was excellent. Very Indiana Jonesish. The material in Dungeon has been hits-and-misses, but the current story-arc (by Collins and Wyatt) have the redeeming quality of being very short and thus easy to expand (which I...

    Essential 3E Realms Products?

You only need FRCS. The Players Guide and Magic of Faerun are nice if you're looking for more rules. Lost Empires of Faerun and Lords of Darkness are essential if you're looking for more realmslore. If your have picked a region, and a region book is available, consider purchasing that as...

Champions of Ruin; Expectations vs. Reality

Lords of Darkness is significantly better, but I still enjoyed CoR. Despite its "flaws" is offers lots of good realmslore on the Elder Evils, Eltab, Malkizid and the featured evil organizations. I will get more milage from this one than BoVD. The character material is somewhat dull, and is IMO...

    Waterdeep - I've got it

Sounds like we agree for the most part. They CoR is far from great, but disregarding it altogether is IMO a bit harsh, because it is lots of good stuff in it (Eltab, Malkizid, Nodes, Shrines, the Epic spells, Eldreth Veluunthra, the Initiate feats) and very little bad stuff (bland yes, not bad)...

    Waterdeep - I've got it

Sorry for straying from the topic at hand, but I just wanted to offer my to coppers in favor of Champions of Ruin. I agree wotc did some strange decisions in terms of what prc classes to include and (possibly) the powerlevel of the Elder Evils (I think they are just fine), but there are some...

    Getting back into Forgotten Realms

The FRCS covers everything you need to run a FR game. The mechanics in the FRCS is very solid, and needs few updates. The history section is short, but very good. The geography section is packed, and cover more ground than any edition of the setting before. The Players Guide is nice, it adds...

What's your single favorite D&D creature?

Orcs. They can glue any campaign together.

Are you planning on buying Races of Eberron?

No. Or maybe. I really don't have time for another setting, but I bought Grasp of the Emerald Something (mostly because of Cordell) and read the Eberron Drow article in Dragon, and found myself quite intrigued by the setting. ... so I might get Races of Eberron sometime in the future.

    Best RPG Books to Read

Setting books are very often fun to read. I never tire of flipping through the 3e FRCS, IMO wotc's finest book to date.

Okay so you hate Dragonlance, how can the current designers improve it?

I have wanted to buy a proper DL gaming product for almost 20 years now, but have not yet been published as far as I am concerned. I want the War of the Lance era in a nice hardcover with maps and Elmore-only artwork. I looked at the 3e setting. I did not like the artwork and it had too much...

Which Campaign Setting has the best fluff? Why?

Judging by the settings I know, Forgotten Realms easily wins the prize. Its rich history, countless npcs and locations gives me as a FR DM and homebrew-miner a vast library of fluff to draw on. Books like the Forgotten Realms Adventures, Lands of Intrigue, Lost Empires of Faerun and the 3e FRCS...

    WotC release schedule thru 2005

Boyd has written a three-part campaign arc set in Waterdeep for Dungeon magazine. They hasn't been published yet, but third or fourth quarter 2005 is a good bet ;) Check out the paizo Dungeon boards for more hints.

    WotC release schedule thru 2005

Maybe a follow-up to the Salvatore Hunter series? The Sons could be Obould and his cronies? An adventure path about the Silver Marches/North region would be simply fantastic.

    Favorite Dungeon Modules

"The Seventh Arm", "Tears of Twilight Hollow", Rich Baker's Firebringer adventure are all favorites. Jonathan Tweet's "Dungeon of the Fire Opal" is also very good.
