    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

That's the EXACT language on p67 of the PHB. The entire sentence, word for word, an exact quote. Starts at the end of the 15th line.

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

It's just one spell, polymorph and that's it. If he fails it (portent would more than likely make that a heck yes) he is dead. He can't do anything but make a slow slime trail as a slug while you load up disintegrate. That's not just a druid, that's casting poly on just about anything. And the...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

I think the argument here is what is RAW and RAI and what is house rules. For example, if you take 10 damage in animal form and have only 1 hit point left, you revert and take 9 damage. p67 of PHB RAW, take the damage and any extra from knocking you out of wild shape goes to normal druid...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Vastly overstating how often that could happen? I mean a player using it. Make a divination wizard, get him up to cast disintegrate, find the big bad guy, cast polymorph on it, make it fail its save with portent and turn it into a sloth, cast disintegrate. If you are playing a Druid, then you...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Druid using wildshape reduced to 0 is the key there. The druid is not reduced to 0, the form is, druid still has health. What he means is that if you have a 10 hp in a form and 20 hp left as the druid, that if you are hit for 60 you are turned to dust and not that the change out of your wild...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Jeremy Crawford JeremyECrawford The intent is that a druid using Wild Shape is disintegrated if the druid, not the beast form, drops to 0 hp. #DnD 3:10 PM - 17 Sep 2015 Sorry, found that after you posted and edited it in. The game designer and myself are on the same page, but again DM trumps...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

The ability does not say anything about checking for any effects that happen at 0 anywhere. It does specifically state that any damage carries over so if you are hit with a 60 hp disintegrate with 10 hp left, the rest carries over specifically. Think of it as temporary HP and not a completely...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

You can look at it in a non disintegrate way as well. You have 4 HP as a whatever ya like in wild shape. I do 4 damage do you, how many HP do you have now? Do you have 0 or do you have whatever you had in your normal druid form? I do understand English as well as math so no reason to be all...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Sage advice says that when the Druid hits 0 hit points he is disintegrated. Which is true, when your normal form is at 0 he would be turned to dust. It specifically states that "if you only have 1 hit point left, you revert and take 9 damage." Which means the remaining damage from disintegrate...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Specifically states "if you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form." So the damage that is being taken goes to the other form specifically as you cannot actually be at 0 in wild shape. You are correct, very specific, it carries over to...

    D&D 5E Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Technically, the Wild shaped form never actually hits 0. Any HP total below 1 means you are in the reverted form and take damage in that form as you can never be an unconscious wild shaped creature (you either have 1 hp as the wild shape or your normal shape's HP, never 0 between). So RAW and...

Will D&D make strength matter again?

Initially, you cannot. But if you take pact of the blade (which you need to get improved pact weapon and the second strike at 5 anyway) it allows any weapon "this benefit extends to every pact weapon you conjure with that feature, no matter the weapon's type."

Will D&D make strength matter again?

Hexblade makes it even worse now. Just pump Charisma and you can have a nice greatsword attack and just work on Con, totally ignore STR and Dex both.

    Surviving level 1

Roll a fighter or cleric for lvl 1 so you have survivability, then reroll your character at lvl 3 or 4 when the session is over.

    D&D 5E New to D&D 5E

Bards are awesome, but they aren't easy to play (neither is a Wizard). Just know that you are squishy at lvl 1, everyone is. I am currently doing a 1 lvl Bard, 2 lvls in Hexblade, then the rest in Lore Bard. Darn guy can do just about everything in game, just not the as good as the specialized ones.
