In 3e, I never ran a human as I wanted to go more "fantasy". So, I'm a little surprised Human is winning the race vote. As I said in the Class Poll, I'll be running a Dragonborn if I am not DMing.

Healing Surges are daily based. (X per Day) The Second Wind rules are that you can only use one Healing Surge per encounter. So, potions allow you to use more than one Healing Surge per encounter.

Since potions equate directly to your daiy healing surges, a couple of thoughts: :1: If you have already used up your healing surges for the day, your just plum out of luck... that potion doesn't do anything. :2: When you are out of combat, you can expend your healing surges fairly at will...

I completely agree with this. Maybe it was my 3e DM, but a lot of humanoid baddies kind of all blended together, so if we were fighting orcs, goblins, or the aforementioned Team Carebear, the feel was very similar. I'm looking forward to actually playing 4e and seeing how the feel actually pans...
