I use eTools for most generation, npc, character, treasure, etc, I use excel for combat management, I have a local copy of the Hyperlinked d20 SRD, and I have an access database that has a master index for everyone of my books.

Once a dataset is purchased you are email a link to download the dataset. Once downloaded all you have to do is unzip the download and run the executable.

Yes, Pocket PC. I guess the simplest thing would be to copy over the downloaded srd .rtf files and just do a search on them.
