    yet another alignment question

He's LN, but not for the reason you think. Archie is neither Good (charity isn't his forte), Evil (he doesn't hurt anyone else), or Chaotic (he respects authority and the system around him.) He is Lawful Neutral. Archie being a bigot has little to no bearing on his alingment. A member of...

    System Reference Documents

Answers from the FGA Actually, the pre-release SRD is not Open Gaming Content. We were only allowed to use it if we agreed to update our work to the final SRD when it was released. The old SRD with the removed monsters is as much "OGC Contraband" as the monsters in the Fiend Folio.

    Compiled 3.5 Revisions

Actually, mounted knights with lances and full shields almost never happened. Head down to a Renn Faire and look at the jousting--the shield is bolted on, not held. I suspect, though, that the rules will allow a character with Mounted Combat to use their lance in a charge. The appripriate...

OGC reference for average GP / level?

    Ok, I'm impatient... Based on the formula above and the SRD: Lvl / GP 1 100 2 500 3 1,300 4 2,500 5 4,100 6 6,233 7 8,900 8 12,366 9 16,900 10 22,900 11 30,633 12 40,633 13...

OGC reference for average GP / level?

Has anyone come up with a good OGC mark of a character's average GP / level? I could fire up my spreadsheet and just multiply each creature's average gold by 1 2/3 (assumes 50% retention of treasure), but I'd like to see what else is out there first.

    Spell DCs

I do this. In my home game (AASB), I use this for the spell DC mechanics. Of course, I also use a wholly different spell system... but the save DCs seem to work just fine. It acutally hurts when I play my FRCS drow cleric--her spell DCs are so bad that, as I recall, she's never had a spell...

    D&D price lists

The real weapons are fairly light--well, the ones that survive to modern times, anyway. Where were yours made? Are they originals, reroductions, modern comparisons, or stage blades? (I've seen examples of each of the four--and they all have fairly wildly different qualtiies.) Also, swords...

    Multiclassing saves

My solution It's hardly unique, but IMC I give the classes a fractional BAB and save adjustment, and give the "good" saves a +2 bonus at 1st character level; I'll probably expand this first part into "training", but for the moment the "+2 to good saves of first class" rule works good enough.

    Exotic and interesting customs

"People" Stat Block? One idea that just hit me is a formatted "people stat block." Don't know if anyone else will be intereted in it, but I know that it will help me focus my thoughts. FWIW, so far I've got the following spaces in the "stat block" Following the stat block, of course, would...

    Exotic and interesting customs

Some thoughts Odd customs, eh? Decadent empire, eh? Think about what the exotic cultures value, and what their worldview is. Customs can flow almost naturally from that. Fer example: * The Orcs of the Long Plain believe that all the world is a long, eternal hunt. Thus, they value items...

    Inter-racial breeding - help!

Rules Smules Technically the fey'ri is already half fiendish, so it's offspring would be a tiefling. But if it's a tiefling, we're back to the "multi-race blend" problem. Goblins have so little blood, and fey'ri have so strong a bloodline, that making their mixed-blood goblin offspring...

    Inter-racial breeding - help!

Well, that's simple to express For the record, the character is a male fey'ri, which is an Outsider (native) race in Faerun, with quite a large amount of demonic blood coursing through his veins . There's your answer right there. If you feel like being evil in turn, make the PC have some...

    Noble as a Feat

As usual, I've got rules for that. While not a feat, I do have rules for nobility. Essentially, I've booted humans back down to a "lowest common denominator" race, and taken the human racial bonuses (+1 feat, +1 skill points) and made them into a "Hero" package. The "Noble" package grants the...

Searchable SRD -- Is this worth it?

CHM files I've got a CHM (windows Compiled Help file) of the SRD, and one of the AASB rules (see homepage). They both work great as reference tools. Once the 3.5 SRD comes out, I'll probably spend a weekend setting those files into a CHM (and maybe even a mini-website for local viewing)...

    Feat and Skill based Psionics

Ok, I'm shrilling. Just an FYI: I'm currently tweaking and finalizing The Craft of the Mind v2. I've found a few better solutions to most of the problems that feat-and-skill systems run into--and the problems that CotM v1 had. If you're interested, give me a hollar at my home address Or...

    Bringing back weapon speed!

Everquest has delay The Everquest RPG (From SSS and Sony) has a "Weapon Delay" mechanic. It doesn't affect initative, but it does reflect weapon speed, allowing for more / easier multiple attacks. For your demo scienrio, I suggest just you break the round into halves, during which each person...

    Armor Redone [Final Draft v1.1]

Im looking for help on this system, its a little rough right now. Its purpose is to improve the way armor is handled in 3.0e which unfortunately won't be seeing an improvement in 3.5. These are the "problems" associated with armor: You forgot one: There are no rules for attacking and damaging...

Help wanted to polish The Craft of the Mind

With summer coming around (and tax-time just past), I'm looking for writers, artists, layout folk, and playtesters/proofreaders to help me polish up The Craft of the Mind, my perinneally revised and edited d20 / Promethteus based mental power system. The Craft of the Mind is released under the...

Open Call for variant Psionics Rules...

Craft of the Mind IS getting updated Just an FYI: The Craft of the Mind system _has_ been updated. I've been meaning to flesh it out and place it as something worth buying, but I haven't found the time to do so yet. The new system is much simpler than the original "complex" draft, but it's...
