[OOC Discussion] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge??)

If I misunderstood and their is not a crew member already at the cannon - I will retcon it to be Kartuus firing the cannon himself. I hope its ok that I post first and ask the question later - I just figure because of the speed of PbP, posting > then having a long discussion in here and then...

A quick update - I completely forgot I had training scheduled tonight so our combat trial will not be able to happen. I will try grab a couple of you prior to next Thursday for a quick test. The first session is still fine but games will be on Thursday's instead, I hope that does not cause any...

[OOC Discussion] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge??)

Do the crew at the cannons have decent Dungeoneering checks? I did not see that skill in the stat block.

[Adventure] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge:Lord Sessadore)

Eyeing the oncoming ships, Kartuus makes his way below decks, a mischievous gleam in his eye. He had seen the strange contraptions the crew called "cannons" and was eager to see them put to work. Kartuus will use his action to go below deck and man a cannon.

[Adventure] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge:Lord Sessadore)

Staggering slightly from the rum, the shade makes his way on deck. Noticing the oncoming junks, he racks his brain for any rumors regarding pirate activity he overheard in the taverns during his recent stay in Sybar.... Streetwise 8+4 = 12

[Adventure] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge:Lord Sessadore)

"Ho there friend, what are you cooking there?" smiles Kartuus, entering the galley. Pointing to the half finished bottle, "Care for some company?" Not too sure if you would want a diplomacy roll or not. Let us hope not! Diplomacy 11. If you would assume that the shadows cast an evil light upon...

[OOC Discussion] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge??)

Themes is on a roll, in less than a couple hours he has already offended both the Count and now the Captain. We are going to have to tie him down soon before he ends up overboard!

[OOC] Roll20 Online Game Trial - Looking for Players - Australian Timezones

I will put up a post, "starting" the game as I write it but this is how I see how the party came together. Lin Darketh is the third daughter of the third daughter of the recently deceased (roughly 20 years ago) Matron Mother. Lin is still young and has only recently begun her schooling at...

[OOC] Roll20 Online Game Trial - Looking for Players - Australian Timezones

Given that this may be a one-shot we will not both too much with character backgrounds. It would be helpful if you have at least some idea of your character's personality - no need to go overboard - something as simple as three words that define his/her personality or even a single sentence is...

[Adventure] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge:Lord Sessadore)

With his purchases safely stowed into his backpack, Kartuus makes his way to the docks.

Combining PbP and "Normal" Tabeletop Play

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on this. One thing I really like about PbP is that it allows both players and the DM to develop the PC's and NPC's personalities moreso than playing at the tabletop. The downsides of PbP is the obvious glacial pace at which it moves. I have been giving some...

[Adventure] A Call for Lovers (DM: jbear Judge:Lord Sessadore)

"I suggest Crystalbrook first. They are blaming the fey for attacks upon them by blue skinned creatures. Perhaps if we can track down these attackers we can learn the truth of it?" As the group makes their way through the markets of Sybar, Kartuus moves to the elf maidens side putting his arm...

    The Perfect Number

This sounds like a narrative style system. I guess a middle ground is something like Vampire: The Masquerade's Disciplines - you had "powers" but they were not overly defined and there was a lot of room to move within them but there was still a limit to what you could and could not do.

    The Perfect Number

Any system like this would make it combat even more complicated plus it would mean another thing to track. Thank you this is the sort of response I was looking for. The next part is how do you scale this around level? Do you allow players to have more options at higher levels? Or do you keep...

    The Perfect Number

Infinity options? I probably should have made it more clear - obviously you want the players to be able to do anything they want - swing from a chandelier, dive out the window etc etc. I am purely talking about the number of "powers" - regardless of the system there has to be a finite number...

[OOC] Roll20 Online Game Trial - Looking for Players - Australian Timezones

No problem with that - if we move to a campaign I normally give the equivalent of that feat and the expertise feat for free anyway. You will have Darkvision. Additionally you can swap the extra at-will for the Drow encounter power. I may retcon this if we move to a campaign if it seems...
