How Many Boosters/Cases Do You Buy Of Each Set?

6 months or so ago, I bought two boosters each of Angelfire, War Drums, and Aberrations (maybe an underdark too, plus the basic rules for the game. That was jsut to get enough so I could run combats in my face-to-face game. Since then I have not bought any. I learned my lesson with Magic the...

    Internet Saved the Tabletop Genre

If all gamers were like those on these boards, then maybe Online stuff would work. I support the idea, I really do, but as an add-on to D&D, not the new D&D. Lots of people still have no Internet acccess at all, and many many more struggle with dial-up only. And waht would be the cost of such...

    Campaign NPC Level How high

This came to me while reading anotehr thread about superman and Batman. Now, in one of my PBEMs, I have effectively limited the level NPCs can be expected to be. Now most people are limited to level five, wheather Mage, commoner, or such. This is about 98% of the population. Leader types have...

Unearthed Arcana Varient Rogue - Sneak Attack for Fighter Feats

Oh, god no. I can think of a dozen ways to make a fighter much more deadly with a half dozen feats than a few d6 of sneak attack. Not even remotely balanced. I am also worried about soem of the multi-class feats in somplete scoundrel, which are similar to this question. On allows a...

    Why are Apes size Large?

I think the ape should be large. Large is a great tactical advantage for a melee/grapple combatant, and an ap@e is surely larger than 90% of humans. Count in that that size is mostly muscle and it makes sense.

    Arcane Disciple and Warmage

First, taking a level in cleric and Domain spontenaity is a great way to get around the 1/day problem. One thing I think the last couple of posters are missing is the benefits of having a spell on your class list. Sure, you can only cast it one per day, but drag out a wand and you can cast it...

Bang goes one of my nastier builds

An excelletn house rule for PA is to go back to the 3.0 version. Gets rid of the cheesy 2:1 tradeoff, and opens the game up for lighter fighters like scouts and rogues. 3.5 PA was a bad change IMHO.

    "Mo' Dungeon = Mo' fun?"

Dungeons have always made the msot sense for high-level magical items and enemies to be. Sure a bunch of goblins can camp in the woods, but why would a CR10+ monster? It woud change the whole area for better or worse. Dungeons help to confine that kind of influence.

    Order of the Stick #407!

I always admire Rich's tendency to make plot-importnat strips simple and impressive. Like this one, only half-dozen panels, and virtually no dialogue, but it says so much.

    Arcane Disciple and Warmage

12 ranks so from level 9, you can quicken, empower and extend all day. That is my main reason for saying the warmage's ability is best, for it really really expands their options. Makes them far more attractive for more than 5 levels.

That has to be the best alterante class ability in the PHBII.

    D&D 4E 3.75E or 4E?

I am hoping for 4E, and I think it will be 4E. Wizards has obviously been experimenting with different ideas in the last couple of years (warlock, reserve feats, multiclassing feats, dual prestige calsses) and such, and IMHO, getting a lot better at it. I think it is time for wizards to keep...

    Clueless...Educate Me About D&D Miniatures.

A medium sized creature mini is about an inch tall. Small about 1/2 that so really small. Large are about 3 inches tall, most ofthem. And there are variations among the different size catagories depending on the monster. Most of the humanoid monsters (orcs, hobgolbins) and such are far far...

How Important Is Rules Knowledge In Being A Good D&D DM?

I think in D&D 3.5 you need to be better atthe rules than many systems. SOem systems are very forgiving, but D&D is more and more complicated each month, and you need to knwo what is going on. I lurk on the Optimization boards over at WOTC boards just to know what new tricks are coming up next...

    Arcane Disciple and Warmage

I agree, and would probably not allow it either. But by RAW, also note the wisdom requirements which does something to balance it.
