+1 That's one of the biggest advantages of being a private company.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder First Print Run Sold Out

I've read the book weights 4 lbs, 3 oz. Thought it was on the Paizo boards some where. I think a better estimate for number of books would be around 1/3 of the total weight (maybe like 1/5 of the total products they're bringing, but far heavier than most). That means they're bringing roughly...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder First Print Run Sold Out

Lots? Ah, I see. And how many of these lots did you print? And how many books were in each lot? :p I would guess somewhere between 50 and 500,000 books were printed. Just a hunch!

Are you attending Gen Con 2009?

There's something in the energy of large crowds that I love. I think that's why my time spent in Tokyo will always be remembered so fondly. Now if there's something specific that I need to walk through a crowd to get to, yeah I hate that. But for just wandering around w/o a schedule, I love...

    I don't miss the magazines (/ducks)

I probably should have clarified my statement a little better. It's not so much looking at a computer screen that bothers me, it's reading on it for long periods. I'm young enough to have grown up with computers. I own dual 24" monitors at home, and yes, I do enjoy looking at them. :) To...

Are you attending Gen Con 2009?

For what it's worth, my first Gen Con was in 2007 and I managed to convince my wife to go with me. She had never played D&D, and had played (and liked) Carcassonne and Setters of Catan a couple of times. She was skeptical, but after the event, was begging to go again.

Are you attending Gen Con 2009?

I'm saddened by the fact that I spent most of last year living in Nagoya and that we never met. I spent most of the time not thinking about gaming (and not being on ENWorld), because I figured that I wouldn't be able to find a game over there. :.-(

    I don't miss the magazines (/ducks)

I spend 9+ hours a day reading a computer screen at work. I miss having those dead trees in my hand as a relaxing break. Who cares if you actually use the content directly in your games? I read them for inspiration and for pure enjoyment. Am I the only one who misses the ads? There were...

Are you attending Gen Con 2009?

Simple question. Are you attending Gen Con this year? Of additional note, I found the 2008 demographics quite an interesting read. Apparently 45% of attendees spent more than $200 in the Exhibit Hall! http://www.gencon.com/2009/indy/sm/exhibitors/demographics.aspx

Pathfinder 1E Things you Think WoTC should follow from Paizo

Any company that refuses to pay attention to and learn from the rest of it's industry (whether they consider them competitors or not), is asking for failure. What WotC really needs to do is ask the questions, "What does Company X do well? How are they able to grow in our market? What...

    Finally! (but why?)

What? We're still here? Huh.. Apparently the world doesn't end when I'm wrong. Imagine that. :) When I originally read that thread, the jist I took away was "ENWorld is a slow site that suffers from poor administration." Re-reading the thread, it clearly doesn't read that way. Move...

    Finally! (but why?)

Nice guidance. This outtage was my first time ever going to that site (I've seen it referenced many times). That's the first thread I read. Thanks to the ENWorld hatred in just that small thread, I won't be going back.

Pathfinder 1E Things you Think WoTC should follow from Paizo

What would I like to see WotC borrow from Paizo? Their personal attention to their player base. There have been many different attempts by WotC to really connect with their fans, but for whatever reasons they haven't had much lasting effect. It often leaves WotC seeming like a large uncaring...
