Epic Level! Fighter? Yeah right... Help!

Brillant Energy isn't worth the imaginary weapon it's printed on :) It only effects armor AC bonuses generated by physical armor (ie padded, leather, studded, full plate,et al) Natural armor, and force armor (ie Bracers of Armor) still apply.

Epic Level! Fighter? Yeah right... Help!

Jeremy's right about straight fighters, at 25 two more feats than joe blow doesn't cut it. At 30th when it's 5!! more feats, people start to fear you. For an alternate Barbarian type 1 Barbarian/5 fighter BAB class/8 Bear warrior/5 Frenzied at 19th Extra levels in Bear Warrior if you can...

pounce (MM) = pounce (MM II) ?

Pouce isn't consistent across Creatures, some get the "When I charge, full attack" some get that "plus some hind claw action" some get a first round only version. Just depends on the creature.

Epic Level! Fighter? Yeah right... Help!

For high level games the lovin' touch of CHA bonus to saves is your friend. My suggestion of a well-rounded figter type: I'll do this roughly as tastes differ, but if you like I've got a character sheet (@20th) with sample equipment I can email ya. 2 fighter /3 paladin/10 templer/5 divine...

    Revised DR

Thoughts on DR from a rules prespective: DR:50/+3 is easy to understand. Easy is good. Simple is good. Thoughts from a 2e gamer playing 3rd: Wow the werewolf sucked, whats with that? Aren't they unkillable except by silver weapons, I just wacked it with this newb magic sword we found and it...

    Sultans of Smack

Historical Note: At one time someone (I don't remember who) suggested using a premade opponent as the judge of a smack down, where the metric used was your damage done - damage taken over some period of rounds (10?). Those guidelines got lost after one of the various thread/board moves. That...

    Sultans of Smack

For a look, admittedly a silly look, at multiple (non-epic) Leadership you have only to look on Page 2 of this fine fine thread about 80% of the way down the page.

    Sultans of Smack

<Rant> Archer: Clearly you are relatively new to the Sultans of Smack thread as the whole Truestrike Potion issue has been repeatedly rehashed. Before you go on and on about errors, be so kind as to look up citations. Things like entry 48-50 on the minor potion chart and 87-89 on the minor...

DR and weapons with elemental damage

Thanks wolf, we have run into this issue in our campaigns as well, but had been using the "If an attack does no damage then, it has no effect rule" based on rulings made on stunning attack, poisoning and similar. I will mention this to our/my gaming group. Flaming weapons are now even cooler...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

If you found what I've posted so far, vaguely interesting or if you have a question, just speak up. Interesting monsters are a valuable commodity which should be shared whenever possible. After all, if it wasn't ultimately about combat encounters, then they wouldn't have called it Dungeons &...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

Some commentary on the above, before I post the "kids" stats: Mama never used her fire breath only the weakening breath. Almost every round a stinking cloud or a darkness was used to harass the spellcasters and the archer. Black died to a Wail of the Banshee. Aria was rendered useless via...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

Dragon Time! Turns out Shaman Xit'blik is a Lizardfolk and is waiting for them in Hope's End. Also turns out that he didn't send any letter. Two weeks travel leads them to the Lizardfolk village, and the sketchy information that the beast has never been seen, that it comes in the night and...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

Beast Lair part 2 Reserved for the Best of the best: DireRogues!!!! and the many things the party members didn't fight. Afterword: Time passed for our noble(sort of) adventurers, a few weeks to rest, and read, and have magic items created. During this time they received a package from...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

Beast Lair part 1 Skipping ahead a bit, as some of the later enemies are ready to go, but I'd like to have them posted in order. Reserved for a Badger Tempest Ye Olde Hidden Evil Fortress. Such a classic part of D&D. Our heroes know that the Boars and slave children were being delivered to a...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

The game sessions that this post covers is honestly one of the most memorable moments in the campaign so far. This will be a statistic light post as none of the NPC's where particularly interesting. Background. The City of Durn, a small city with strict rules but a caring government. Our...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

Crazed Boars Our brave hero's are woken up in the middle of the night by a very loud and wooden crash. Something large has just smash through the wooden wall surrounding the town of Smithhold. Black was the first on the scene. He discovered two Huge Boars smashing into the walls and buildings...

Monsters, Demons, Beasts of all manner[Foes from an Epic Game]

Since I've spent the last several days typing up my coffee-stained handwritten notes on the monsters my PC's fought, I figured I would post them here for others to perhaps use and/or enjoy. Campaign background: PC's started at 20th level with 16th level equipment on a 34 point buy. Pretty much...
