Anyone have a concept for a Divine striker or controller?

I don't think a divine striker would be called "Inquisitor". It doesn't seem very "inquisitive" to me. More like death. Anyway, I could see it as something of an executioner. No matter where you go, they will find you. And you will pay.

    D&D 4E 4E is like WoW (NOT!)

All I did was "prove" that while there may be similarities, I think the elements of gameplay that most define each game is where they are most dissimilar. In my opinion, DnD will never be WoW because it is a tabletop RPG played on a table with dice and a DM and WoW is an MMO on your computer...

    D&D 4E 4E is like WoW (NOT!)

Diablo times infinity. Assuming that the mechanics are ripped off from diablo, as you imply, you're still comparing limitless potential scenarios with the ONE that diablo provided.

    D&D 4E 4E is like WoW (NOT!)

It would be difficult to change DnD into an MMO without wide scale brain surgery removing rational thought, abstract thinking, and imagination. I'm a fan of MMOs, but I've always thought they're greatest weakness was that the entire game was one moment frozen in time, to be explored and...

A suggestion to 'fix' hit points.

Not Combat Effective = Dead. lol. Anyway... how bout... Danger Points? DP is a good acronym, and it has a nice Indiana Jones ring to it.

D&D 4E 4e Hitpoints are modelled after quantum mechanics

Giggle. Morale damage. GM: The Orc hits you with his sword. Player: What happens? GM: It depresses you. Player: Dangit.

Unfounded Power/Role Speculation OR What I Want for Christmas

Thanks. I'm not picky. I didn't intend to be exclusive. I shall check out your threads tomorrow, but tonight I must sleep. It has truly been the Sunday of Smash, and my eyelids are heavy.

Unfounded Power/Role Speculation OR What I Want for Christmas

But then who would raise the dead to be their unholy servitors? :( Yeah, I think if they're going to use undead as any major kind of class feature they're either strikers or defenders. I personally like the defender idea better. Otherwise they'd have to go with Saishu_Heiki's kind of...

Unfounded Power/Role Speculation OR What I Want for Christmas

This is to talk about how we hope the currently unassigned classes fall on the power/role chart. Necromancer: Arcane Defender. This would definitely provide a different take on the role. Monk: ? Controller. Although, they seem to be pretty stringent with the controller role. Is it confirmed...

    D&D 4E 4E Liker - anything you worry about?

I am afraid of the six hour rest. I am afraid of over-focusing on combat. I am afraid that 'rogue' means 'damage'. I am afraid that the art we haven't seen yet sucks. I am afraid that I am incapable of love. I am an average citizen, and these are my fears.

What they should have done at DDXP

I'm not familiar with your history, but on this thread, it was you and eleran who crapped. Derren's comments were on topic and constructive. Then you guys tore into him. Just a thought.

    D&D 4E Our first playtest of 4E

1st level was always a hassle for me as a DM, until my most recent campaign I always had a hard time justifying why these characters, particularly in a setting as focused on backstory as eberron, were so inexperienced. For example. it suggests in the players guide to eberron that your character...

D&D 4E Looks like 4e's combat is closer, and I LIKE it!!

No, he's right. Lateral momentum doesn't reduce the pull of gravity. You have to remember that even the slightest arc in the shot would increase flight time. Snipers account for this. The only exception that I can think of would be a bullet traveling so fast that it would apply its lateral...

D&D 4E Looks like 4e's combat is closer, and I LIKE it!!

Well, thats just the shaft and the fletching, cause the head would be buried in the target. Plus target arrows don't even have a head, really. If you can see a paintball comin atcha, I'm pretty sure you could see an arrow. Yeah. Also bows are tricky at close ranges, because the arrow tends to...

D&D 4E Looks like 4e's combat is closer, and I LIKE it!!

Paintballs generally travel at 300 fps, which is faster than that, and I have dodged them when the shooter was a little way off. I'm not sure how far, probably between 30-60 yards. Its not easy, its not like I'm a ninja, but a lot of the time you can just duck or weave a little bit. Granted...
