The Fire lash does 1d8 of damage on a successful touch attack, for everything else it's supposed to act like an ordinary whip... You can definitely use weapon afire and fire lash multiple times, it never states that there is a limit, and I would also say yes to using the two abilities together...

In a short campaign I played in, the DM allowed one of our PCs, a wandering pelt merchant, to have a bow of wonder. It worked like a rod of wonder, and sort of like the imbue arrow ability for the arcane archer. The battles were all very unique because of it.

You assume a monk can only punch things. A tricky monk can grapple to immobilize enemies, or disarm, and take the BBEG's weapon. Tripping is also fun when there's a friendly fighter next to the guy.

There is a feat that applies to spells in Complete Arcane, which allows you to replace the energy damage with subdual damage.
