The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

What do you mean by that? That there are a series of powers, each with a minimum level to use it or something?

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

I found a gestalt generator, and I'm guessing it means combining two classes, but I don't know the rules for a gestalt, or do I know what book it is in. I've heard them mentioned, but never heard many specifics about them.

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

Yah, great ideas. I love the healing armor one; it's simple and useful.

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

Yes, in a way. The character rolled high stats, I rolled great treasure, they could buy great armor and weapons, and I needed to make tougher adventures. Tougher adventures=more loot=more stuff, etc. It started out with awesome rolls, and while I am nice, I need to up the CR of everything.

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

While I can see the advantage of that, we wanted a world where magic was, if not commonplace, at least far from rare. Every village has its wizard or sorcerer, although hamlets may have a mere lvl 1 one, or even an adept. The items came from a perfectly random treasure check, not one I...

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

I gave double HD at first level, so that it would be more viable to go on with "real" adventures rather than three goblins in a cave. As an in-game explaination, I decieded that this dwarf was blessed by his clan's High Priest of Moradin, granting him a bonus of extra hardiness (I did not write...

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

Two problems. First, the full plate reduced dex bonus to +1 maximum which has saved the character's life many, many times and allows her to deal with fairly high level encounters compared to her level. Second, I don't have those books :( . I have the core books, Forgotten Reals, Magic of...

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

    Here is some her stat block: Ilde Loderr; Dwarf Ftr5: CR 5; ECL 5; Size M; HD 5d10+25; hp 90; Init +4; Spd 20 ft; AC 22, touch 11, FF 21; BAB +5; Grapple +10; Atk: +10 melee (1d3 + 5, Unarmed), +12 melee (1d10 + 8/crit x3, Waraxe, dwarven +1), +10 melee (1d8 + 5/crit x3, Warhammer), +9 (1d4 +...

The only player is a ftr, who does not have enough magic

What should I do to give the fighter in my one player campaign enough magic? She is really weak against magic, and neither of us wants to make a low-magic campaign, and we were thinking of having a mid-high magic one, where most large towns use a lot of magic to preform services, track...

    Very High Magic Campaign?

I am considering doing a high-very high magic, high powered campaign later on, and I need suggestions as to how you guys think it should look. Should the magic be obvious, with major cities having glowing walls made of opalescent light, or not so much.

Can you guys recommend some free map making programs for a DM in need?

All of the maps I make on the computer are really bad, basically grids with labels. I want something that will let me print out areas that look like those places, at least a bit. My players are starting to complain, and I don't blame them. Thanks.

Do you use a computer program (such as DM Genie)? (poll)

I personally use DM Genie. Its nice.

Do you use some sort of D20 computer program to DM or play? -Edit- I messed up making the poll thingie. Darn.

    Do dragons sleep?

However, bindsense is "using novisual senses, such as acute smell or HEARING, a creature with blindsense notices things that it cannot see. The creature does not need to make Spot or Listen checks to pinpoint the location of a creature within range of its blindsense ability..." This means that...

    Caster Level Question

I know this seems really odd to ask, but I was searching last night in the core books and couldn't find the answer to this question: Why would a player (or NPC) spellcaster ever cast a spell at a lower caster level than they possibly could? Maybe I missed something, 'casue it was late, but I...

    Thanks! That diagram was helpful!

    Do dragons sleep?

Two points, one for and one against your theory: 1) Dragons have immunity to magic sleep, like elves, which don't sleep, so maybe they dont sleep 2) If I assume that they DO sleep, it is another problem over whether with their Keen Senses and Blindsight whether or not they are automatically...

    Do dragons sleep?

In the Monster Manuel, it states that "All dragons have immunity to sleep (magic sleep) and paralysis effects". What I am wondering is whether dragons sleep or not, and if they do not truly sleep, do they have an equivlilent like how elves meditate deeply. Also, if dragons have blindsense and...

    Giving hints

My real question is whether it is good to hint in order to "train" the character to think cleverly or if that just wreaks it because they become dependent. Because I am a fairly new DM, I do not have the experience to know what is a better idea.
