    Shaman's Spirit Companion and OA's

Last week I started a thread asking about the viability of the Bear Shaman build. During the course of that thread, some questions came up regarding how the SC works. The SC is a conjuration and conjurations can't be attacked by definition. However, the SC power clearly says that it can be...

    D&D Encounters Season 1 & 2

I'm dissapointed that i'm unable to attend the current DS encounters simply because I want to run around in that world...but I'm not dissapointed because of the serious errors in the DS characters as you've mentioned. I followed the thread on here listing all the mistakes and they're terrible...

    D&D Encounters Season 1 & 2

Does anybody know if the Encounters Seasons will becaomse available for the rest of us that couldn't make the scheduled event? I realize that season 2 is going on now, but will they release Season 1 as a module followed by Season 2 when it's completed? I've been listening to the Shattered Seas...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

So you're saying the party may have a problem if the leader only uses his healing spells on himself?

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

I'm sure somebody will present a real point here for that...but the one thing I do know is that your SC is a conjuration and under the definition of a conjuration, they normally cannot be targeted. My guess then is the answer lies in the SC at-will power where it tells you that they can be...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

Well, this is exactly what I'm afraid will happen. I guess I may have to play the Panther Shaman build at least once to try it out and see how it goes. I'm hoping I can supplement THP with healing versatility from feats. Frankly, I'm quite surprised they only have one THP power and it's...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

I prefer offense to defense too and if I went Panther build, I could gain a better AC (my whole problem with the Bear build) and have generally higher dmg output at the expense of a single defensive at-will power. I think that sounds like a fair trade off. And like you said, gaining a bonus...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

I'm just curious if you feel the extra dmg the Panther Shaman brings to the table is better than the temp hp granted by the protecting spirit at-will? I realize I could still put a 12 in con at lvl 1 and grant 1 temp HP with that power, but it just seems to me that a little extra healing is...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

I didn't realize that Area and Close attacks didn't dmg the spirit. I assumed since they could be targeted as part of the SC power, they could be "targeted" by AoE and Close spells as well. That's really good to know and may change my outlook on this character. That's mostly what I was afraid...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

I agree that they're not really any stronger, but find myself liking the Bear Shaman build simply because of the Protecting Strike power. I like my leaders to have a temp HP power at their disposal. Granting temp HP really cuts down on the number of true heals you need to grant...and with only...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

Yeah, that's definately one of my questions. I realize the SC will never die to a minion attack for example at that lvl...but can anybody tell me how often a SC will die during a lvl 1 encounter? I'm guessing it won't happen very often at all as dealing 10 points of dmg is hard for a mob...but...

Lvl 1 Bear Shaman AC a problem?

I'm looking at playing a Bear Shaman for our next adventure. We'll likely be starting at lvl 1. Given that the build is a Wis/Con build, my Dex/Int likely won't be higher than 11 or 12, meaning that my lvl 1 AC with leather armor would be AC 12 or AC 13 at the most. Will this be a problem...

Bard Strength of Valor feat question

I don't have the full definition in front of me, but if I recall, whenever you bloody or kill an enemy, Strength of Valor grants you +2 dmg to your next dmg roll. My question is simply, does this mean if you use a burst or blast power that you will deal +2 dmg to each target you hit or will...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Helping a Former 3.5 Player Get 4e

Don't forget about minions. They added a create "class" if you will called a Minion. They are designed to harry you, but not necessarily deal you a ton of dmg or kill you. A minion can be anything from a Kobold to a humanoid and they only take one hit and they die instantly. They also deal a...

    Dwarven Monk 4 Advice

Not to mention it conjures a really cool image to picture a dwarf (w/ the Pointed Step Style Feat) reaching 2 squares away and backhanding a monster with his FoB power. HEHE! ;)

I agree. The club is quite boring for me as well. I'm quite happy with my Githzerai Centered Breath Monk and Pointed Step Style Feat.

    Dwarven Monk 4 Advice

About the same way a Stone Fist Monk would increase their dmg (almost). Two-Weapon Fighting would be one if you wanted to wield a Spear and Dagger (or Club and Dagger). I had originally planned to walk down this path myself, but I feel it is most decidedly un-monk like and have changed my...

    Dwarven Monk 4 Advice

I don't feel that the Stone Fist Monk build actually deals that much more dmg. The Stone Fist FoB only deals 1 point more, or 2 points more if you're not targeting your original target correct? I'd rather have the slide ability of the Centered Breath Build because I don't feel that the dmg...

    Dwarven Monk 4 Advice

I couldn't remember exactly which one it affected. I knew my Crane's Wings at-will benefitted from it, but I just couldn't remember if it was Melee Touch of Melee 1. Thanks for clarifiying, I didn't have my books in front of me at that time.
