Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

Only if you use one bastard sword for dairy and other the other for meat and don't mix them up. Two bastard swords has got to be easier than, say, a hammer and a flail combo.

Class Design: One Primary Attack Stat

The number of stats could be trimmed down. Body (Str/Con), Mind (Int, Dex i.e. Kinesthetic intelligence) and Soul (Wis/Cha) oops I've pinched Guardians of Order intellectual property! You can view each DnD stat pair as an inwards (Con,Int,Wis) and outwards (Str,Dex,Cha) manifestation of...

Do you like XP costs for magic item creation?

Essentially you are trading XP (and time) for: 1) GP 2) Access to items you might not ordinarily find 3) the fluff of "I crafted this myself" So it seems fair. The problem is it just puts crafting PCs behind the other PCs in the same party. Ands for minor items it can be a total miniscule...

Reach Weapons for a Warlord (Resourceful)

I would say it depends on party composition, in particular is he going to part of the front line or is a support member. If a support member reach is totally awesome. Works wonders with leaf on the wind. Greatspear is the 'must have' reach weapon for that extra accuracy bonus, particularily...

Players break the doors-chests what ever

There are only two limits: the imagination of the players and the judgement of the DM. I was a player in a campagin with 3 players, so we opted to do without a thief. We carried a large mallet for doors and a hammer and chisel for chests. We often lost surprise and a few potions.

What prevents eternal crossbow attacks in the rules?

Some crossbows come equipped with a bolt-clip, a spring (not a coil, a flat bent piece of metal) that is attached to the tiller and goes over the top of bolt pressing it into the track. Not sure when these first came into use.

    Versatile Weapons and Power Attack

The more I look the more I feel the RAW do not support either way of looking at it. A long sword used two hd does the same average damage as a greatsword, but weighs less and is more concealable... so you may say let's give the greatsword a break and let's not have verstaile use 2h count as...

What prevents eternal crossbow attacks in the rules?

Me, too. But remember the encouragement from the rule is to say "Yes and...". The "and" in this case is "and how are you going to stop the quarrel falling off the track/tiller?". Once magic weapons become part of the PCs arsenal, they will probably have second thoughts about this tactic. I...

    Versatile Weapons and Power Attack

Nothing official, yet. I expect this to get an official one day. General concensus is that a versatile weapon is a 1-handed even when wielded in two hands. It will only ever be general concensus until something official comes out because of these wordings: p217 "Versatile weapons are...

The most powerful rogue powers from Martial Power.

Well, longsword does have the versatile keyword allowing you do 1 extra point of damage if you go two handed with it. And unconditional 1 pt probably makes up for the 3.5 pts 1/rnd conditional on getting a sneak attack in. I agree that Rogue weapon choices are pretty dull (I think even 1e...

Making a Samurai: AC and Armor problem

If you are going to do a samurai you must first carefully stat up the katana. Bastard sword is a good start, but remember historically these blades were folded a million times, the most finely balanced weapon of all time and could slice through 10,000 ashigaru spear wielding conscripts in a...

    Sleep spell and a shout

Sure can, but not not just casual (free action) bellowing... you have to get up close and really shout. This is an untrained Heal check requiring a standard action: Grant a Saving Throw: Make a DC 15 Heal check. If you succeed, an adjacent ally can immediately make a saving throw, or the ally...

    New Race: Holometallic

Yes, it shows as much originality as my respect for other people's intellectual property;) eeek, you got that right! Limit this power to rituals without the Creation keyword Now the fluff is also broken! Add the following racial ability: Body of Armour: You are a suit of armour, so you...

    Ascardian - Arcane Melee Striker

I think the Thinblade is overpowered. Usually a Superior Weapon has one of the following: - extra property (eg High Crit) - +1 prof bonus - extra damage (usually 1 point but sometimes 1.5) - reach when compared to a similar Martial Weapon. The thinblade when compared to the scimitar offers...

    New Race: Holometallic

The Artificier look interesting, but there wasn't a race that really munched the stats for it (except for Githyanki), so I thought I would make one with extra-cheesy-munch and that fit the fluff whilst totally ripping off the Warforged and bordering on bare-faced plagarism. The Holometallic...

    Role play problems

Intimate in "doing the Freaky" context is an adjective (or more rarely a noun). Intimate as a verb means "to imply" or "to announce". Rules don't explicitly cover fighting over treasure, because that isn't how the action is meant to play out. Maybe you can make skill challenges to fight over...

    Granted Saves and Aftereffect

Yeah, but it sure evokes the excitement of the combat.;) This is an interesting issue. Seems simple enough with the RAW, but counterintuitive. Not so counterinuitive when the granted save comes with a bonus as you can say that's the price you pay to get a bonus. I'm leaning towards (as a...
