    Comprehensive list of civilizations/socities

It gets more complicated if you don't confine yourself to one time period. For example, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, and various stages of medieval Europe are all "European" and societies based on them have shown up in games that I've played in.

    Rpgtonight.com

You'll have better luck posting your questions on the rpgtonight board. One of the things we do there is help new users with the system. Maps are displayed on a scale of 1 map pixel = 1 screen pixel, and you can zoom in and out by up to 4X from there. But without knowing anything about your...

Thanks. If anyone else has other sources I'd be interested in looking at those too.

Second most popular RPG game system? (and third and fourth...)

Other than the various incarnations of D&D X.X going back to Gygax (RIP), what are the second, third, etc. most popular RPG role playing systems in terms of the number of people using them, or sales? Speculation is welcome, but I'm mainly interested in finding published sources that have that...

What was the "golden age" of Dragon

I voted for "other" meaning anytime before about two months ago. At least back then the magazine *existed*. The online thing is not Dragon Magazine.

Fast forward to the Summer of 2009: Press Release: Wizards of the Coast June 28 2009: It is with regret that we inform our legions of loyal customers that as of July 1st of this year, Wizards of the Coast will end its long career as supplier and publisher of our venerable line of Dungeons and...

Why WOTC shouldn't have gotten rid of the Dungeon and Dragon magazine

I voted "Bring back Dungeon and Dragon" but sadly I know its never going to be... When somebody invents a flexible e-book that wieghs as much as a paper magazine so that I can read it in bed, lazing on the couch, or on the throne then maybe I'll subscribe to their online versions.

To ALL ENWorlders: Did you play 1E AD&D?

I started with the old version that had hobbits it. The GM made copies of the manual for everone and passed it around. Then we all switched to AD&D as soon as it came out.

    Several GMs seeking gamers

There usually several GMs at RPGtonight.com who are looking for new players for their campaigns. Right now most of them are just starting out. One has been running for several months. Timezones are mostly North American with one in the UK. If you must feed your need for tabletop RPG, or just...

    Dead tree D&D mags

That's interesting. According to Wikipedea, its been published since 2004 in Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymancer_magazine Google searching comes up with Polymancer Studios, Inc. http://www.polymancerstudios.com which apparently still publishes it. It totally slipped under the...

No Macs? Holy crap did WotC do the math wrong!

I just took a look at the operating systems poll that was linked to earlier. By my calculation, Mac/Linux/Unix/Other account for 42% of Enworld users (Enworld's poll feature seems to have a math bug - their percentages add up to more than 100%). This jives with my casual observation over the...

    What OS do you use?

There's something seriously wrong with Enworld's poll math. The percentages add up to way over 100%. Still, Mac/Linux/Unix/other still add up to 42% of the total by my calculations. That jives with my casual observation over the years that gamers tend to be less Windows centric than the...

    Will you subscribe to DDI?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll never subscribe to ANY electronic magazine until they come up with something that lets me read one while laying on my couch with my feet propped up and my right hand in the Doritos bag. Maybe a *really* light notebook computer or a projector that...
