    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Daze Question

I tried... Dandu, your wisdom, I suppose, is ageless. Your clarity, however leaves something to be desired. And what good is wisdom if it can't be understood?

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Daze Question

Almost everything about this makes it sound like your movement is impeded by way of a physical effect: binding/grabbing/etc... Even paralysis is generally caused by things like poisons, which would require a fortitude save, implying physicality. The mohrg's touch also requires a fortitude...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Daze Question

Now that Dandu's perspective has been explained a bit less cryptically by others, I'm going to have to agree to disagree. I'm fine with Freedom of Movement removing psychological paralysis, just not in my game. If I'm playing in a game someone else is running it, I'll watch Freedom of Movement...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Daze Question

Thanks guys. I tend to think the spirit of Freedom of Movement is physical, not psychological. So, for my game, I wouldn't allow it. I see where you guys view it as an option, though. Maybe I'd let it do something if cast in advance... Break Enchantment seems like a good option, though...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Daze Question

Freedom of movement does not apply to daze. As for the other options, those are only if the character is built with them and they're not basic choices. I'm looking for options that come form the PHB. Thanks for the ideas, thought. ThaDium

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Daze Question

I'm sending my players up against a Sea Hag. If she manages to daze one of them, what options do they have to remove the condition? I've been poking through spell lists, but haven't found anything yet. Thanks, ThaDium

Anyone have any seafaring game stories that they can share to help me get my brain going? Thanks, ThaDium

    On Sailing

Hey All! I need help. I'm a veteran DM, been running since before 3rd Edition even came out. But one thing I've never done is run an ocean game. My current campaign is set around the Mediterranean Sea. So, sailing is not just an option, but practically an expectation. Those who have been...

Vampire vs Farmhouse & Grey Render

    That picture is AWESOME!

    D&D turned up to 11.

I like the tavern full of moon rats idea. I'll be playing with that. On a side note, as a "turn it up to 11" random encounter, I'm going to have a manticore fly overhead as the PCs travel along a major trade road. Being evil and roughly the size of a cow, it will proceed to poop all over the...

Vampire vs Farmhouse & Grey Render

I like the idea of redemption you've got going on there, Rumbletiger. I'll try to work that in. <MEMORY SIDEBAR> A few years back I ran a plot line where the priest of the PCs home village turned to an evil god for power to protect the village from invading fey and was eventually redeemed...

Vampire vs Farmhouse & Grey Render

On the spell side, I'm planning to have the family behave in a "trapped in the house" manner that will hopefully infect the players, then have the vampire roll a flaming sphere into the house. His spells can enter, after all. Once the house is lit, they'll have to run and deal with keeping the...

Vampire vs Farmhouse & Grey Render

Yeah, there's no anti-magic field. But I do like the quasi-vampiric grey render idea. I'm going to have to think on that one for a bit and see where to go with it. Luckily, we don't play again until the 22nd. hmmm...

Vampire vs Farmhouse & Grey Render

I'm going with the vamp not yet having had a chance to dominate anyone because otherwise the party would arrive to see a bunch of dead farmers. So, he'll do it during the game but be hesitant to dive in fangs-a-blazing because the party is a new and unknown entity. Backstory: The vampire...

Vampire vs Farmhouse & Grey Render

I'm the D&D turned up to 11 guy. One of my players told me he wanted to see what I'd do with a vampire. Follow me on the set up; we'll get to the vampire. My PCs are going to come across a Grey Render and an injured man who are being attacked by a pack of wolves near a half dug trench and the...

    D&D turned up to 11.

Next time they collect firewood or hunt an animal for food, make it an Awakened creature that screams in common. I did something similar in a game I ran years ago. A snowstorm trapped the PCs in a keep full of recently deceased. As the party had arrived there from a visit to another plane...

    D&D turned up to 11.

Right now, they're set up for what I hope will be a lovely recurring villain. Here's how it went down (I'll recount as briefly as possible, certainly leaving out important details): They were summoned by the head of the City of Three's Thieve's Guild who was looking to buy a magic bastard...

    D&D turned up to 11.

There will definitely be a trap filled dungeon. And though they did not all meet in an inn, I'm planning a bar brawl for the next game. The city they are in can best be described as Mos Eisley meets Las Vegas. It's a big mage run city filled with casinos and high rise hotels err... inns. The...

    D&D turned up to 11.

Of yeah, the grill of Vecna! (and I'll be using that picture, I'm just not sure how yet. For reference, there are 3 PCs, all split class. A Ranger/Rogue, a Wizard/Cleric (soon to me Mystic Theurge), and a Barbarian/Druid.

    D&D turned up to 11.

I do like the idea of a drunken dragon who's been shape changing into various forms and impregnating the local population. A drunken master dragon is almost too funny to pass up. I'll be doing this one for sure. I just need to figure out the balance so I can present it seriously enough to...
