    Best D20 Game?

Although Wheel of Time and Slaine were close seconds, I went with Spycraft. I've had the book for awhile and finally started playing last week and had an absolute blast.

The more I read about Arcana Unearthed...

Fence Rider Well, I'm definitely stuck on this one. I'm the first to admit that I haven't been a big fan of Monte's work. His modules aren't my style (I still have a sour taste in my mouth from 2e's Labyrinth of Madness). But when I read his website, his ideas and just his attitude make me...

Player's Guide to Fighters and Barbarians: Prestige Classes

...well, in that case, be sure to pick up Dangerous Denizens coming out this summer. It'll be a good book. :)

Player's Guide to Fighters and Barbarians: Prestige Classes

Yeah, but how much does the public still love monster books? I just finished working on one with KenzerCo and when I tell people, the typical response is "Why do I need another monster book." Obviously my response is "I wrote this one, so it's going to be better!" but MM, MM2, CC, CC2...

Player's Guide to Fighters and Barbarians: Prestige Classes

Prestige Classes I've certainly become saturated on prestige classes and class splat books. Actually, seeing through a hawk's eyes does sound cool and I think I once modified familiars to allow for that at higher levels. My problem with it is that I have yet to see companies publish that...

    KoK Products

Atually they're referred to as Variant Classes for that specific reason. They're meant to be an adaptation or a variation of what's available. Why play a fighter who is a gladiator when you can just play a gladiator? That kind of thing.

    Developer's Roundtable: Mystic Theurge

Certain classes are mutually conducive to one another. Although a fighter/rogue certainly out performs a cleric/wizard on the power meter (assuming that power is measured by effectiveness in combat, which seems to be all that's left of role playing), that class isn't as effective as a single...

    Developer's Roundtable: Mystic Theurge

This is an absurd notion and one of the reasons why I don't like to play arcane casters. Too often playing a wizard without fireball in his spellbook is met with utter disbelief. The spell selection is the largest out of all the spellcasters and I do believe that a balanced party of appropriate...

    KoK Products

Oh what Kalamar products to buy? Well, depending on what your DM is looking for will determine which Kalamar books you should purchase. If he's interested in world/nation building, the campaign sourcebook is a terrific buy. I know you said you wanted it to be able to attach to something like...

Looking for a new campaign setting

Depends on how deep into the world you want to get. There are a number of products already out for the setting (and more still coming out this year). As a DM the only book you HAVE to have is the campaign sourcebook. This describes the different human races, their major kingdoms and cities as...

Is there anything really wrong with the idea of an evil Paladin?

Maybe yours, but I've run the gammet on what kind of D&D games I've run. Heroic, evil and everything in between.

    Todd Lockwood outdoes himself!

Todd certainly has succeeded at his job. Not just to make cool artwork, but to sell the book to people like me. I hadn't planned on taking a look at the book (no offense) but with a cover like that I really want to see what the rest of the book looks like. Well done, Todd.

    [OT] Naming a child Arwen

I went to college with a girl named Arwen. Looked nothing like Liv Tyler. She was short, had pasty skin and these huge nostrils. But I never thought twice about her name. Go for it man.

What does the go D20 ruling mean for the living campaigns?

Well, at the meeting for the different campaign heads on Friday morning, it was said that all parties involved had been contacted about the decision. Then the Virtual Seattle director said "This is the first I've heard about it." The Rokugan director had learned the secret the night before. I...

What does the go D20 ruling mean for the living campaigns?

Living Rokugan has decided not to convert to d20. First thing this means is that they have to lose the "Living" as it's copyrighted, but they also have to decide if they want to close up shop or go it alone. I'm hoping for the latter. It's a really popular campaign in Missouri.

What product are you looking forward to most this year????

The Kingdoms of Kalamar is finally going to have a monster book come out this year (May to be precise) and that one is going to be particularly special to me (*plug, plug*) I'm hoping that WotC will approve Kenzer's Arms and Equipment Guide that's been done for three months, although to hear...

    Best and Worst Settings?

The reason I've pledged my allegience to Kingdoms of Kalamar is because it's the only setting that's outdone my homebrew. I was very proud of that thing and I, from time to time, used other published campaigns to add a bit of flavor. But when I got Kalamar, all the things that I felt were...

    your favorite word for "command"

Is this realistic? It takes five minutes to remove heavy armor. How would one round out of 50 make that big a difference? I typically prefer flee although there are choice words used on a case by case basis.

    [KOK} Products Useful?

Nah, regardless of what campaign setting you're running in, the KoK DM's Shield is a must have. I'm a big fan of Fury in the Wastelands also. Spice up your orcs!
