    LotR-TTT, Gospel Therefrom

I got a chuckle out of that scene. I always took it as an homage to D&D.

    [Hackmaster] I succumbed

I've heard that from a lot of people. And maybe that's it's appeal. It tugs on those strings of reminiscence. I never played 1e so I can't tell you if you just purchased the books all over. From those people who complain about all the extras added in, I can only assume that you didn't. :)...

    Do you only play D&D?

I play mostly D&D (Kalamar and Greyhawk), but I also play Hackmaster (D&D 4th edition? ;) ) and Vampire. We tried to start a Werewolf game but it was just too easy to power game and I play ST games for the role play aspect. I'm also waiting for a chance to play Spycraft, Wheel of Time and...

    [Hackmaster] I succumbed

I don't hate you at all, man. If that's how you and your group have fun, more power to you. Although 3e is my primary game engine, I play Hackmaster as well. With so many different 3e games I'm involved in, it's nice to have something totally different, but still kind of the same to play. In...

FRCS, Druids and spells. What the heck???

I don't understand how druids got the shaft at all? If the PC is willing to worship a god, wouldn't someone who would be motivated to become a druid worship a nature god? I can't imagine someone worshiping the god of technology saying "I want to be a druid!"

Did you use minis and grids pre-D&D3?

We did except during mass combat when there were too many variables. It threw me when people made such a big deal about it in 3e. I didn't realize it wasn't a more common practice.

What Core Classes do you allow in your campaign?

Allowed classes I allow all the classes from the PHB. I also allow a couple of the classes from Wheel of Time that I really like (the spearman and the Woodsman). I allow the variant classes from the Kalamar Players Guide (which, so far only included a Brigand and a Gladiator, although some...

    Battle Mat

I have my battle mats/tiles from Dragon Scale Counters and use wet erase markers on them. I love it. When I need to clean them off (not just wipe something off for adjustment which is easily accomplished with a napkin and some water) I just stick the entire thing under the faucet and it's...

    KoDT fans out there?

I have every issue but 1, 2, 3, 7 & 8. I came in late in the game but found a bunch of back issues at a local store (and spent way too much on them).

    Greyhawk Setting Ressurected? Sorta Kinda..

I've never been on the "Gary is a relic of the old guard" bandwagon before, but such a statement sickens me. A few? Only a few? Regardless of what I want for a Greyhawk setting, Gary your comments today have been inflamatory and would be noted as such by other posters if you weren't who you...

    Greyhawk Setting Ressurected? Sorta Kinda..

I really dispise comments like this. All it says is, "If it weren't for me, you couldn't make opinions about this because it wouldn't have existed. So, although you're free to express your opinion, mine is more important because I'm me." As no one who has posted on this thread is involved...

    What's the appeal of Hackmaster

Maybe for that person. I never played 1e. I was overjoyed with 3e when it came out because it fixed so many of the problems I had with 2e. 3e is my setting of choice but I still love my Hackmaster game. I never played it because I missed the "good ol days." I played it because I had heard...

    Favorite DM's screen ever?

When it comes to 3e products, the thing I value closest to my PHB is my KoK DM Shield. The thing is so comprehensive. It has every chart and table I could ever want all right there without the pages and pages of text and pictures in between. It's also color coded so if you're looking for...

    Greyhawk Setting Ressurected? Sorta Kinda..

I said that Little Keep was one of the best modules I've ever played in. I'll stand by that statement as well. Was never fond of older modules. Especially 2e modules. Those were just painful. I've been told I just had bad luck on the 1e modules I played, but it's been so long I honestly...

    I lost a thread!

I posted my opinions of the Monsternomicon yesterday (or perhaps the day before) and the thread seemed to be alive and moving at the time. Well, they were disparaging remarks and I'd like to continue on with the discussion but now I can't find the thread! Has anyone seen it? I haven't lost a...

    Best Campaign Setting????

Which one? There's a Hackmaster GM Shield and there's a Kingdoms of Kalamar DM Shield. The KoK shield is my favorite D&D resource next to the PHB. It is the best screne I've owned (and I've owned a few). It's overwhelming the first few times you use it, but once you get acclimated to all the...

What's the difference between new Greyhawk and old Greyhawk?

When I started gaming, the group I was with was already gaming in the Forgotten Realms. Then we moved on to homebrew and now I game in Kalamar. I never experienced Greyhawk until 3e's Living Greyhawk Gazetteer. So, I'm wondering what the difference is between the two. So far, I've learned...

    Is Hackmaster a joke?

I go to bed for the night and look what happens! Well, if you want to go back, all those posts were made by the same person who should have known better. So ignoring Buddha's remarks, I hope we can continue on with a civil conversation. Now, why would I talk about Hackmaster on ENworld...

    Is Hackmaster a joke?

Modules Although I haven't read through Smackdown the Slavers, Little Keep on the Borderlands is one of the best modules I've ever played.

    Greyhawk Setting Ressurected? Sorta Kinda..

Hackmaster being a joke Since this thread is talking about Greyhawk, I started a new thread about Hackmaster and whether or not it's a joke. ...and then I rambled on for awhile. :) Feel free to add your comments. I'm sure there are plenty of people on both sides of the game that would...
