I read the first hardback of Superman Action Comics. Some very cool stuff, and I like Superman's power level. I think that Superman: Secret Origin was a better telling of that particular tale, though. I need to re-read that and see if my memory of it is right.

Emperor Mollusk vs. the Sinister Brain is joyous. An amazing romp through classic pulpy sci-fi. This was an incredibly fun read.

I'm now burning through Supergods, by Grant Morrison. It's very... Grant Morrison-y. A bit overflowing with flowery wankery. But it's a pretty fun read, and I enjoy hearing his take on the history of superheroes.

I just read Akata Witch, by Nnedi Okorafor. It's a pretty standard kid-gets-inducted-into-magical-world story, but it's by a Nigerian-American woman, and it's based on African lore instead of European, so it has a very different feel to Harry Potter. Very well-written, very enjoyable.

The sequels to The Dracula Tape are far better. An Old Friend of the Family and Thorn in particular are good, although I found The Holmes Dracula File deeply lacking despite my general love of Saberhagen.

They are awesome, but they can't beat Howard Pyle for me in that category :)

I've only actually read the first book. I kinda want to read more. The chicken thing and the Most Beautiful Statue in the World both seem so amazing that there's gotta be more hilarious greatness in there.
