    What heroes games are there?

So, he's pretty much got infrared night vision, sonar, smoke bombs, and a fire-resistant bulletproof suit, then? That still doesn't seem gadget-level, except as a convenience. You can find rules for all that (except MAYBE sonar) in modern RPGs, like d20 Modern. Savage Worlds has all of it except...

    What heroes games are there?

It's been a while since I read Watchmen, but isn't Nite Owl just a regular (albeit intelligent) guy with gadgets? I don't see most of the costumed heroes using the Necessary Evil rules; everyone but Ozymandias and Dr. Manhattan would just be a regular (but experienced and tough) wild card...

Playing THIS with THAT. . .

I've run a lot of different things with Savage Worlds, including Scion. It hasn't disappointed; SW is very suited to my GMing style. Coming soon: Savage Unknown Armies! I want to run Savage Scions vs. the Unknown Call of Cthulhu: Scions fighting occult underground freaks, adepts, and avatars...

    OotS 611 is up!

    W00t! Awesome!

    What heroes games are there?

The Necessary Evil expansion for Savage Worlds is fast, furious, and fun. I recommend it, although it is lacking in some areas (emotional manipulation, f'rex).

So what's your favourite beer? (Forked Thread)

I'm not much for beer, but Woodpecker Cider is awesome and refreshing, as is Strongbow.

How Many Beers per Gaming Session?

According to you, you said that all alcohol was a "foul liquid," and a "crutch/escape for the weak willed," and that you believed those two statements. The first is your taste, and that's fine; I don't like all alcohols either. The second is prudish and bigoted :) You don't have to be a prude...

How Many Beers per Gaming Session?

I mostly only DM, and I'm the only one of us who drinks while gaming (the others are underage, on the wagon, or have to drive afterwards). I typically have a cider or two spaced out over the evening, and I'll sip some other alcoholic beverages as I DM (Irish whiskey, Wild Turkey, or whatever...

    Chunk of Meat

That's hardly restricted to computer games, though. PCs pretty much always try to eke out a few extra gp from whatever they can.

What is your favorite Wild West RPG?

Spellslinger is an awesome mini-setting and I'd LOVE to run a short campaign in it, whether using d20 or Savage Worlds. Savage Worlds is a great, fun system with some annoying flaws (mostly in the magic system, for me).

    History, Mythology, Art and RPGs

This thread delivers. Very very good stuff here, and I really enjoyed those posts on art and weapons. Dha are, indeed, awesome :)

    An Awesome Moment

Awesome, awesome moment. Sounds like a blast for everybody :)

Forked Thread: Name exactly what 4E is "missing"

I'm pretty sure I could run 4E without a battlemat, but it strikes me that a lot of the fun in combat comes from the tactical playstyle that battlemats encourage. I'm still running 3.5, by the by, but I've run 4E a couple times and I want to give it another shot. I'm not sure I was entirely...

D&D 3E/3.5 Worst 3.5 rule from core books?

Makes sense. Nice way to think of it.

    Published retro futuristic rpgs

Not an RPG, but check out the collectible strategy game Rocketmen. Good clean fun :)

    Brainstorming Orcish Society

I like this idea...very unique way to treat orcs. Cool :)

Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

Wait, what? A priest...who isn't a priest and doesn't care about priestly things (spiritual)? Isn't that just a fighter?

Are some of the basic elements of medieval combat too weak in D&D?

For the second one, AoOs, and there are feats designed to lets polearm wielders tear the hell out of people trying to get close to them-Hold the Line and Stand Still are the two that spring to mind.

Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

I think you can probably see why that's not really addressing his point. PCs are intended to use their at-wills all the time; basic attacks are for AoOs and against flying opponents (for melee classes).

    Tell me about Savage Worlds

Savage Worlds is a lot of fun. It is, indeed, also fast and furious. Character creation is dead easy and you can make tremendously varied characters. It seems fairly well balanced, as well. I've run it quite a bit. EDIT: The initiative system is awesome and fun. I thought it'd be clunky at...
