THE 4e COSMOLOGY KILLED MY HOMEBREW AND TOOK ITS STUFF!!! (except for the Elemental Chaos; I don't have that) ;-)

D&D 4E What do you think of the 4E background to demons & devils?

Exactly. And Black House is a Dark Tower tie-in, right? Anyway, that seems to echo what Sims wrote on the 4e demons. I'm all about Paradise Lost devils and King/Lovecraft/contemporary horror demons. Can't wait.

D&D 4E What do you think of the 4E background to demons & devils?

I really wish I could play under a great DM again. To me, demons and devils have been walking bags of hit points and powers that sit in the BBEG slot at the end of a video game. They bore me. If I had a DM who could handle them in a cool and interesting way, perhaps it would be different...

Will someone define "Siloing" for me?

Plus he gets those "per day," "per encounter," and "at will" abilities, which we don't know much about yet.

Comments on Noonan's thoughts on Monsters

I am an awesome DM. When I run an encounter using: a level 10 druid a greater earth elemental a prestige class from Complete Warrior that I have forgotten a small retinue of low level fighters a mid-level wizard vs. 6 PCs with prestige classes including the aggravating Apostle of...

    New Design: Wizards...

Love the first one. It felt more generic. Loved the tome. Not so much on the second one. Though I haven't seen the rules, it gives me the heebie jeebies.

    D&D 4E 4E Rules first Role-Play second?

Just reading through these posts, it feels like we all want basically the same thing (a game with great mechanics, where some of the mechanics actually encourage role-play) which is very encouraging.

    D&D 4E 4E Rules first Role-Play second?

Role-playing rules are a delicate flower. As others have mentioned, books that cram in a lot of fluff are often scorned by their target audience, because we don't want THAT fluff. We want our own fluff. DMG2 is an interesting example. All the stuff it had on fantasy medieval society & law...

D&D 4E Fluff that plays bad (and how to fix it in 4e)

Tolkein, Vance, Moorcock. Great men with great ideas, I'm not disputing that, and I've loved the game for 25 years. But do we stop at 1974 and say "D&D: this is what it is, was, and forever shall be?" Since then, fantasy has got Jordan, Rowling, and Martin, just to name a few. Their influence...

Warforged: Like them or loathe them?

Hooray! Does this mean I get to playtest?!?!?!? :-D

Warforged: Like them or loathe them?

IMO, the core book should offer as much variety as possible. Nothing against gnomes, but with dwarves & halflings around, they rarely get played. Constructs have always been a part of D&D. I like the prospect of playing a construct, a tiefling, an eladrin. Each of these seem to offer something...

Game spy interview with Christopher Perkins

I'm confused. If the sweet spot makes the game more playable from levels 1-30, why accelerate leveling? While leveling is fun, there's something to be said for enjoying the ride instead of always focusing on the next destination point (which my players always do when they're close to...
