    D&D (2024) 2024 Assassin subclass

I am curious, of how many creatures have resistance to poison?

Who knows, nothing has been shown Monsterwise.

    D&D (2024) 2024 Assassin subclass

Whilst sounding good ignoring poison resistance it is largely worthless as creatures usually are immune to poison not resistant. You would thing that WoTC designers would know this.

    D&D General ORCS!

The whole orc = anti black racism was nothing more than clout chasing soap box bullying.

D&D General (SPOILERS for Vecna: Eve of Ruin) Are My Standards Too High for Adventures?

An opinion not given is an opinion that will not be taken into account and given how much these books cost you better believe I will give my opinion.

A Preview of The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons: 1970-1977

I don't think I will be getting this as I believe the history / details will be um what's the best word.....sanatized.

D&D General (SPOILERS for Vecna: Eve of Ruin) Are My Standards Too High for Adventures?

It seems to me that the writers are too scared for the villains to be Evil and commit Evil deeds for the offense it may cause to some thus weakening the story. On top of this so focused are they on bringing in new players that they have become complexity adverse limiting what can be done with...

D&D 5E Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks Would Like To Explore Kara-Tur

A revived Kara-Tur setting would be great, unfortunately clout chasers would ruin it for everybody.

D&D General The Double-Edged Sword: Is The New D&D Edition a Cash Grab in Disguise?

A company trying / wanting to make money, perish the thought.

D&D General The Resurrection of Mike Mearls Games.

Meanwhile the wizard is sitting back laughing at the silly martials and their ability checks, waves his hand and the problem is solved. lol

D&D (2024) Things You Think Would Improve the Game That We WON'T See

The main problem with simplification is that once you go past a certain point you start losing design space, removing designers room to move in, that is the main issue with oversimplification.

D&D (2024) Things You Think Would Improve the Game That We WON'T See

We wont see a split of the Fighter into 2 separate classes, A simple class acceptable to the Society for Spellcasting Supremacy and the effort adverse player. The second with more in depth/active abilities that require more active class play and management.

D&D 5E Are some Fighting Styles worthless, and how could they be fixed?

Not only are the Fighting Style variable and largely underwhelming but are also underwhelming from the point of view of Fighters who are supposed to be the "Masters of weapons" but are only as good as anyone else with the same style. Hell even with weapon Masteries there are many classes with...

D&D (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Considering the design path across the classes over the 8 playtests, I must say the Fighter design was extremely timid and everyone once again shared the fighter's lunch.

D&D (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Realism Vs Balance. Sometimes you have to acknowledge that it is a game and design accordingly.

D&D General Has Sensitivity and Inclusion gone too far?

Trying to water down how I usually word this sort of thing. Sometimes right and ridding us of something abhorrent, and sometimes creating an issue out of nothing due to either following the bandwagon or enjoying the view from on high.

D&D (2024) Nerf to magic users?

The guy just read from 1st ed and claimed that this is what some designers were talking about adding to the game. As much as lips touched grog butt cheek in earlier design, we will not see 1st ed rules ported into 5E24. The Society for Spellcasting Supremacy will never allow the 1st ed rules for...

D&D (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Are we once again at the point where we need to explain that Popularity =/= Mechanically Well. A person can like the fiction of the Fighter but be unhappy with the mechanics both in themselves and in compared to other classes.

D&D (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

We never hear talk about if different species could use various magics or not. Nothing Like heavy or weapon size discussions for magic equivalents. It's always how to make life harder for weapon users, take something away from them or stop them from getting a new toy.

D&D (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Ah Verisimilitude the favorite beat stick of the Society for Spellcasting Supremacy, no other implement of pain and suffering has hurt Martials more. The spell Power Word Verisimilitude should forever be removed from the pages of the game, thus we can better enjoy our Martials and drink deeply...
